bro, kung may CD or DVD writer ka e di dun mo na lang i backup kesa naman sa floppy.  o kaya naman tanggalin mo yung HD mo tapos ipakabit mo sa kaibigan mo na may malaking HD space then tsaka mo dun ibackup or kung kung meron kang mahihiram na spare HD dun mo na alng i-backup.

dude...  i think you better save up for a cd writer...  this hardware really made things easier for me everytime i need to back up my files...  i have a habit of reformatting and reinstalling windows at least 4 times a year...  as part of my tuning up process for my pc...  all you have to do is buy a writable cd (cdrw) and you're done...  i use a couple of those to backup my huge pix collection as well as my drivers and other files... 

or you can partition your HD to 4 (20 gig each) and then use a 20 gig drive for your backup...  then install windows in another 20gig so everytime you need to reformat it or reinstall windows, yung 20 gig lang ang gagalawin mo...  di mo na kailangan galawin yung other 3 partitions mo.

I would go with what pogi says. Do it the old fashion way. If in case you are using windows xp, try using disk manager, its very easy. para ka lang naglalaro. =)

bought an 80 gb Seagate Sata -- my officemate said that its not compatible with my ASUS P4PE2-x 800 MoBo.  He said that i need a controller -- i need a more direct advise please  tnx

your mobo does not support SATA interface, so I go with your officemate's opinion or you can just have it replace from the store where you bought the HD since every store should have replacement policy, you could reason out that it is not compatible with your mobo. Since buying a controller card would cost almost half the price of the HD. If the store wouldn't want to replace the HD you could opt to sell it but for less cost from what you've shed for it.
