X-MEN ’97 is expected to explore new stories in the iconic 90s timeline of the original animated series. It is executive produced by Beau DeMayo (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf). The series will be available for streaming sometime in 2023.

X-Men '97 Producers Reveal Intel on X-Men: The Animated Series Revival

The X-Men aren't the only team returning in Marvel Studios' X-Men '97. Husband and wife team Eric and Julia Lewald, two of the creators behind the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series, join original series director Larry Houston as consulting producers on the animated revival ordered at Disney+. Picking up where The Animated Series left off in 1997 after 76 episodes across five seasons, X-Men '97 revisits the iconic '90s timeline with new and returning cast members voicing the Marvel mutants. In an interview with Justin Underwood, the consulting producers shared new intel on X-Men '97 and revealed a 10-episode first season expected to premiere mid-2023 on Disney+.

X-Men ’97 Release Date Window Delayed to 2024

Marvel Studios has reportedly shifted the dates on a ton of its television series, including X-Men ’97, which The Hollywood Reporter says is getting a new release window.

Originally planned to release in the fall of 2023, THR notes that the animated series will instead premiere sometime in early 2024.

There was no explanation given at all, nothing about "creative differences" or any of the usual moving on spiels coming from publicists. It was also reported that his company email account was deactivated immediately and that his teams/co-collaborators were informed that he no longer was part of the project.

Basically, he wasn't able to say goodbye and everyone else on X-men '97 didn't know what happened, either. He will also not be attending any of the press events and he didn't attend the premier, which is unusual as writers for Marvel projects always walk the red carpet even if they were taken out of the project.

From what can be observed, this seemed like quite an acrimonious split. And it looks like Marvel/Disney+ is doing its best to stay as far away as possible from Beau Demayo.

Meanwhile, Demayo's instagram account was also deleted.

“X-Men ’97” hit four million views in its first five days on Disney+.

According to Disney, this marks the streamer’s most-watched premiere for a full-length animated series since Season 1 of Marvel’s “What If…?” in 2021.

Episode 5 was really heavy. Nit something I epxected..

So Ive been rewatching the original X-Men and andami pala episodes na hindi pinalabas noon sa Channel 2. Parang abridged version. Tanda ko talaga lagi ako nanonood nito kaya unlikely na I missed episodes.

The producer is recommending to the X-men event Fatal Attractions to prep for the next episode. From the looks of it, Magneto will return to his villainous ways. And, Wolvie does not have a story arc yet in the series. Hmmm.....?
