Kingdom: Ashin of the North (Kim Seong-hun) *** - This film is a prequel of sorts of the popular Korean period horror zombie Netflix drama series which traces the origins of the outbreak. I actually happen to be a fan of the series and I’ve seen both seasons. Since it’s a prequel, you don’t really need to see the series to get what’s going on but it helps. The film or as I like to call it, an extended episode takes a while to get going and is not quite as great as the series it originated. That said, if you like the series, here’s another piece to the lore but personally, I don’t know if it’s absolutely a must-see.
