The other rumor stated that they were willing to give up Jaylen Brown, Grant Williams, Derrick White + 2 first round picks.  The Nets wanted to include Marcus Smart + 2 more pick swaps. That's 8 players in exchange for 1.

If the deal materializes then BOS starting 5 would most likely be the ff:

Malcolm Brogdon
Jayson Tatum
Al Horford
Robert Williams III
Kevin Durant

off the bench would be:
Danilo Galinari
Payton Pritchard
and a bunch of bodies to just complete the required minimum number of players.

They should pull the trigger and get this deal done. Their defense might suffer a bit but their offense will more than compensate for that.
KD is under contract for 4 more years. BOS has a ton of draft assets pa despite trading away some to get KD.

parang nasa Spurs na si galinari?

He was waived then he signed with BOS. He actually took less money to be there.

throw him out far from LaLa Land

That's the caveat when you get an LBJ onboard your team. It has to be on HIS timeline. He doesn't care about the future of the organization or its succession plan.  He will demand that you surround him with the players that he can maximize in order to get a championship NOW and not SOON.

It worked when they swapped the entire farm for Anthony Davis. They got the Championship that very same year.  Now he is pressuring them to get rid of Westbrook (which he approved to get at an enormous cost to the franchise) and swap him with players that he can work with.  The problem there is that Westbrook's value is at an all time low.  They need to attach 1 or even 2 first round picks just to offload him for a marginal player like Buddy Hield.

If the Lakers organization caves in to the pressure, They will be left with little to no options to rebuild from the draft from 2025 and beyond.  By that time LBJ will be retired and AD might be on the tail end of his career.

So lets recap...the Westbrook 1 year rental already cost them:

Kyle Kuzma
Montrez Harrel
KCP
a first round pick (#22 in the 2021 draft)

To get rid of him...they might lose:

THT
First round pick 2026
First round pick 2028

As a fan...for me the best that they can do to position the organization for future success would be to:

Do not trade Westbrook.  Waive him.  Pay him to not play.
Let Lebron walk away after this season.  Lets see if he can manage to convince another team to jettison their future for a 1 or 2 year window for a championship.
After those 2 are off the books next season...they can now start to retool around AD.

lagi naman win now yung top teams kasi yun yung biggest chance to win.

tignan nyo Boston, only won once in the last 30 years. nanalo pa sila because of vets not cause they developed players.

look at the other teams na puro develop do they ever win? (aside from GSW) some can't even get in the playoffs.

meron pa rin naman nananalo through draft and player development - Bucks won 1, Spurs won 5 in the last 23 years ... Heats I believed won before the arrival of James, and Mavericks too

For me there really is no tried and true formula to get to the top.  We have seen teams stack up talent and then fail miserably while some manage to win it all (MIA 2012-13, LAL 2020 etc). We have also seen teams organically develop drafted talent to get to the top (CHI dynasty and GSW) while some do a very bad job on this approach (yes...Sacramento that's you).  Meron din naman na magkahalo...in house player development and free agent signings (LAL 2000-2002, LAL 2009-10).

Everything needs to fall into place for one team to finish on top.

Diba dapat meron "incentives" and mga teams that drafted and cultivated their talents so that they can still pay them the max tapos meron silang mas mataas na salary cap? Yan ang nirereklamo ng may ari ng GSW kse they drafted Curry, Klay, Green and now Poole, Wiseman, Moody and Kuminga and they are willing to pay them kaya lang the league is putting a super hard cap (luxury tax) on them the same as the with other teams. Ang contention nila they drafted these players so dapat allowed sila bayaran ng malaki without the penalties. In doing so the other teams would be force to wisen up their picks and development of their own talents.

Tapos yung mga player na palipat lipat ng teams dapat di na eligible ng super max contracts.

Alam ko kasama ito sa pag uusapan nila sa next CBA. The most recent agreement between owners and the NBPA started with the 2017–18 season and runs through 2023–24, with a mutual opt-out after 2022–23 so next year baka pag usapan na yan.

Agree ako kay Lacob dyan. He has a valid point.

Rip Bill Russell. One of the greatest, if not the greatest. 11 rings. When he led the celtics to beat the high powered lakers in 69 was the exclamation point. Game 7 home floor pa of lakers.

Shouldn't Bill Russell have 13 rings? Since he was also coach for the 2 last championships?

Arguably the GOAT. More rings than fingers.

And he did all of that by wearing just the plain jane Chuck Taylor's of yesterday.  Imagine if he wore state of the art footwear and was supported by the present tech & resources an NBA team has now like nutritionists, performance coaches, shooting coaches, analytics based scouting reports, hyperbaric chambers, sports drinks etc.

Interesting situation for Joe Lacob regarding paying Draymond Green the max contract.  On one hand Draymond is already old, has poor stats which will only get worse and the Warriors, who already pay the highest luxury tax in the league, need the money to retain younger players like Wiggins and Poole.  On the other hand Dray still plays an important role to the team with his "intangibles" and Joe would not want to alienate Steph who will support Green for sure.

If I was Lacob, I'd put my money on the young guns - look to the future, not the past so to speak.
