He can still play overseas when that happens. Steph Marburry did that. The money though isn't the same.

Ever heard of a former NBA player named Junior Bridgeman. He played for the Buck from 1975 up to 1987 (with 2 years with Lakers). He is just 2nd richest former NBA player, 1st is a guy named Michaek Jordan.

All NBA players and athletes should learn from this guy.

For me mas mahirap yung ginawa ni Bridgeman. He wasn't a star player like MJ. He had no endorsements. He built up his portfolio through sound investing and food chains. People don't go to his stores to "see" Junior Bridgeman. Talagang business approach sya. He just used his career earnings sa NBA to get a start up capital. Today yata his net worth is 700M Dollars.

he wasn't a brand like an MJ, Kobe, Shaq. He also played in the time when salaries for NBA players are more aligned to reality than now. All that makes his accomplishments post NBA more impressive.
