Re the Mavs situation...no matter how we slice it, they already painted themselves in a corner. They already gave up assets to get Kyrie. In 19 games, the results show that with both Kyrie and Luka playing together eh it isn't that productive (3-7 when they both play). Yes DAL is the only team that will have the cap space to sign Irving but the question is...are they willing to give him the 50M/year for 4 years contract even if the small sample size is not really panning out? Do they really want to continue further with this experiment and be on the hook for 200M dollars? Is Kyrie even interested in staying or will he accept a lesser offer from a different team? These are the questions facing them this off season.
They could always sign and trade to get an asset that really complements Doncic. They need a true big. Christian Wood is not the answer (7 teams in 8 years?). They do not have a countermeasure for teams with monster centers like Embiid, Jokic, Adebayo, Giannis, AD etc.
The way I see it eh pareho position nila ni Irving eh. They both need the ball to produce those spectacular numbers. Neither of them are good in playing off the ball.
