During the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the title and length of the upcoming Daredevil Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, were announced.

The series will span 18 episodes and will stream on Disney+ in the spring of 2024. Both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will return to the series as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin respectively.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’: Michael Gandolfini Joins Charlie Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio In Disney+ Series

Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) is set for a major role opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel’s upcoming revival series on Disney+, sources tell Deadline.

Written and executive produced by Covert Affairs creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the new installment centers on Cox’s title character Daredevil, otherwise known by the name Matt Murdock, who is an attorney by day and crimefighter by night. D’Onofrio reprises his role as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.

Details about Gandolfini’s character are being kept under wraps; it’s possible he plays an ambitious guy from Staten Island referred to as Liam. Reps for Marvel and Gandolfini had no comment.

Margarita Levieva (The Deuce) and Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) are set for major roles opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel’s upcoming revival series on Disney+, sources tell Deadline.

Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon) has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming revival series on Disney+, Daredevil: Born Again, Deadline has learned.

Jon Bernthal Returning as the Punisher for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Jon Bernthal is returning to his most punishing role. The actor will reprise Frank Castle, aka antihero the Punisher, in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again for Disney+, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Bernthal joins Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the series, which begins shooting in New York this month. In a departure from other Marvel series, which come in at six or nine episodes per season, Born Again is planned as a whopping 18-episode epic. Writers and executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord are behind the show, which is expected to bow in the spring of 2024.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Lands ‘Dexter’ Director Michael Cuesta

Michael Cuesta, the director behind the pilots for shows such as Dexter and Homeland, is helming the first episode for Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again.

Production on the 18-episode series begins this month in New York and marks the true integration of characters that began life on Netflix, when the streamer had a slate of Marvel series in the mid-2010s, into the popular and dominant Marvel Cinematic Universe.
