The NBA announced the starters of the 2024 All-Star game set for February 18 in Indianapolis:
EAST - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard and Tyrese Haliburton
WEST - LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Giannis was the top vote-getter overall, while LBJ ranked first among all Western Conference players. With his selection, LBJ now owns the record for most All-Star game selections at 20 - breaking the record he shared with Kareem.
Despite placing third in fan votes, SGA edged Steph Curry in both the player and media votes where SGA was ranked first among Western Conference guards.
Lillard also bagged the starting backcourt spot in the Eastern Conference despite Trae Young placing second in fan votes. Jalen Brunson actually had the same weighted score as Lillard after the player and media votes were counted, but Lillard won the tiebreaker for having more fan votes than Brunson.
