guys,
just curious bout your MA speaker connections. from the amp, do you plug into the -LF and +LF speaker jacks (2nd and 4th jacks from the left) and from there connect jumpers to -HF and +HF respectively?
i used to connect from amp to the center jacks which is the -LF and the +HF and from there connect jumpers to the outer jacks, the +HF and -LF and now ive just tested the new wiring setup i mentioned.
and the results? the mids and highs became clearer and the bass tighter! the muddiness was gone. even my wife was surprised. she thought i bought new speaker cables but actually i just did some rewiring. ive just been experimenting on the jumper wires from LF to HF; from CAT 5 cables, to gauge 12 speaker cables, to generic extension wires and i noticed that you can change the way the highs and the mids sound by changing the jumper wires. thinner wires made the highs a bit easier for the ears. the MAs metal dome tweeter can be a bit bright sometimes and ive just found a way to control them.
maybe theoretically this shouldnt add up but when even the wife can hear the difference, then im sure am not imagining the improvement.
she never notices these things but this one she really did. will try other wires to use as jumper. maybe you guys can try it out yourselves.
by the way, i use gauge 12 acoustic research speaker cables from the amp to the +LF and -LF of the speaker. bought them from electronics depot last year.
