tama yan bro, almost all new-generation HDCD equipped players available in the market today are using the Burr Brown PCM 1732. Exposure 2010, NAD C542, RCD-02, RCD-1070, RCD-1072 among others, are using this chip. But some CDP manufacturers like Arcam and Cambridge Audio have switched to Wolfson Microelectronics DAC chips on their latest CDPs. The specs of the WM DAC chip is far more superior than the PCM 1732 DAC chip of the Burr Brown. On the other hand, Marantz CDPs which are known to be equally good sounding source players are equipped with Cirrus Logic DAC chips. but which one of these would sound better is still very much debatable...

it depends on the implementation, its not just the DAC but other factors like power supply...opamps used or what output stage was used etc. OT: the arcam cd73 sounded great paired with an exposure amp but sounded just ok on a rotel amp...and that same rotel amp sounded great paired with an rcd-1072. so system matching is also important

By the way guys I got the RCD-02 and paired it with the RA-02. Could not wait for the Azur 640C.

Moreover, I've heard that these two (CDP and Amp) are a match.

Just wonderin po; if the Exposure 2010 does have the Burr Brown chip , does it qualify as a hdcd decoder na din? Since i dont think the 2010 was ever labeled as one and so do the rest of the exposure line-up. Can anyone lighten up on this?

Rotel 971 cd player on sale for P18K at that store in front of True Value in parksquare. IMO this is a better player than RCD-02. The DAC is a PCM63, widely reputed as one of the best multibit DACs, but second only to TDA1541 (well, according to some opinion that is)

Fronting True Value in Park Square. Is That Sound Dimension? The RCD971 uses a dual 20-bit Burr-Brown DAC with HDCD filtering & decoding. The model is around 5-years old. I wonder if its preowned.
