IMO, any speaker can be used for karaoke purposes.  Are your replacing the speakers of your  karaoke gear or do you just want to use external speakers?

i've heard that ht speakers are not suitable for karaoke purposes because it will damage especially the tweeters since they are not designed for loud vocals.  how about  those BMB speakers in karaoke bars?  they are boomy and have clear vocals. one audio store suggests to buy na lang sa raon. Any comments on this?

Dont use HT speaker, you will destroy it. You can try JBL S38 which is designed for karaoke. You can order from Arch Audio.

Maybe not those cubed speaker satellites for HT which totally escaped me.  What I had in mind are those speaker drivers in Raon from Dai-1chi, Micro, Fostex and other brands that are usually in the 50watt ++range.  Haven't heard about the BMB, but if you've heard them before and are satisfied, why not?  Personally, I'd get a Dai-1chi from Raon.  But if there are better brands out there (more expensive) like the JBL suggested by levi, try them out.

According to Architectural Audio, they dont have any stock but they can order it for you. You can audition it at Megamall 5th level (i dont know the name of the shop but it sells JBL speakers). Its better to give epoy of AA a call, he can give you the exact model and explain it better. I was just looking for a karaoke speaker for a friend recently.

I don't get it... why will karaoke destroy HT speakers? assuming it is played at the correct levels

Yes if played at correct level but always remember the risk. Feedback, mic being dropped or mishandled, blowing the mic etc. Karaoke speakers are designed to handle this.

Can we use karaoke speakers for ht purposes?

Kasi in my place of work (though not my department) e merong mga sirang mini-karaoke at may dalawang malaking karaoke, Sharp lahat ang brand nila. Usually ang sira ay yung mga tape deck and/or amps, they were use mainly for classroom instructions kaya nakatambak na lang kasi nga sira na at pinagkakahuyan ng lang ng ilang parts.

Nakakapanghinyang naman kesa ibenta as scrap, pwede kayang magawa na surround speakers yung mga mini (2-way naman sya) at yung malaki as sub (tri-amp 2.1 config nya, 10" (sub)woofer) palitan lang ng amp?

 ::) ::) :)

One thing I like about karaoke although sabi nga ng marami e laos na is its versatility, it never fails to entertain kahit ano isaksak mo ok lang. Pwede ka kumanta, i-plug ang gitara, pati keyboard ok lang. So kahit sabihin pa na hindi na ito uso para sa iba, I think my Sharp HK-W18R will stay with us for a little longer.  :)

Anybody might be interested in the Powermic Anthony is making.  It has 2 4 inch kevlar speakers with an amp where you can attach an external source like a CD player and a microphone with independent volume control, reverb, etc.  Very portable.  We have tried it in an auditorium and amazingly, it can fill the whole space with sound.  Mura lang!

Uses:

Karaoke
PA (public address)
Speakers for CD player or walkman

We have already sold around 50 pcs which is used in public schools, barangay halls etc.

Pictures to follow.

If anybody is interested, you can contact him at 09183354694 or 5417719.

Cheers!

Speaker for Videoke
Ask lang po sa mga gurus, ano po b available na stereo speaker na pwedeng pang videoke at maganda rin for listening music. I'm planning to get Bose 301 but i'm not sure kung ok pang videoke since 2way lang cya, sabi po kc friend ko should be 3way kung gagamitin pang videoke. Meron po b sa JBL or other respected brands?
