Wreslers dont have retirement plans or benefits? thats really sad...and like Rowdy mentioned, since wrestlers are afraid, they wont push to get a "Union"...wishing the best for our "entertainers"..

The reason for this is that no sane insurance company will ever grant professional wrestlers coverage.

WWE maybe a billion dollar business, but top WWE stars receive as much salary and perks as top NFL stars do (we are talking here of $5M-$30M a year per wrestler). Not to mention that they have to maintain minor WWE stars, aspiring wrestlers from OVW and other training grounds, pay the salaries of creative staff, spent millions for promoting PPV, merchandise and buid-up for potential stars or storylines, etc. Plus, there are the lawsuits and other legal matters which can cost the company millions of dollars. WWE shows may earn much, but then they also spend much too.

If ever the WWE gives the wrestler's a union then it would surely be a losing move for the McMahons and for all professional wrestling in general. A union will certainly gives mandatory time off for all wrestlers plus fixed working hours.  One of the secrets behind WWE's continued success is that its wrestlers keep on evolving, keep on feuding with other wrestlers, keep on giving life to the storylines being woven by the real geniuses of the company, the creative staff. It can't afford to be boring, it can't afford to have its superstars have a time off. Doing so would mean it would lose audience interest, and potential millions of dollars in income.

Bottom line is, WWE is a business. It may be harsh, but its just the way it is. Anybody who wants to become a wrestler from day 1 know what he's going into when he takes a plunge in the business. He has committed to take long hours on the road, he has accepted that there will be no holidays spent with his family, he deals with all the pains (broken bones, surgery, etc) as tough as he can just to give the audience an "off the hook" performance. He knows that he is only as good as his last match and he has to fight his way each and every day just to become a premier wrestler.  All the sacrifices, these great athletes have committed themselves into just to entertain all of us.  More than the union they surely deserve, maybe it would be up to the audience to take the cudgels from them.  But then again, how can you compete with a fickle audience? The audience that pays millions just to see your shows.

It is a sad state that professional wrestlers go through, but they made that choice. We can just wish them luck for it.

I don't think they get paid that much, sir.

Here's a salary list I found a while back. Not sure if it's 100 percent true but more realistic than $5-30M a year

Below is the World Wrestling Entertainment talent roster payroll that was taken from October of 2004 until February of 2006. The shown dollar amount beside each wrestler is the grand total that they earned from World Wrestling Entertainment in a one year period (downside guarantees, bonuses, and merchandise shares). Some wrestler's were given special privileges and bonuses in their contracts which can also be seen beside their total pay. All wrestler's contracts begin and end at different months of the year, there for each shown amount is what that particular wrestler earned in a 365 day time period between October 2004 and February 2006 (or however long they have been with the company). All dollar amounts were rounded up/down (Example: $244,766 would be $245,000)

-Ashley Massaro: $131,000
- Batista: $813,000 (First class flight tickets paid for every week)
- Big Show: $1,000,000 (Base salary)

It looks like VKM is trying out some new formula...no HBK and Undertaker on televised TV, since Wrestlemania...HHH will also be out indefinitely on televised TV, after Backlash...wow...

First, it was "Breaking Point" (scheduled for Sept 13) -- a PPV where all the matches are submission matches. It will replace "Unforgiven".

Now, WWE once again issued a survey to fans on their mailing list about a PPV where the Hell-in-the-Cell would be used in all the matches...potential PPV names for the event -- WWE Hell In A Cell; WWE No Escape; WWE Lock Up; WWE Rage In A Cage...

Yun ang problema sa mga wrestler, one of the reasons why Kurt Angle left WWE is because of depression and the lack of time for his family. His wife divorced him because of his commitment in the WWE. Sa TNA daw hindi ganun kahigpit, puwede kang umuwi kung may occassion at kung may emergency ka. He also said na he saw depression in Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit before they died, hindi rin kasi madali trabaho nila, no wonder The Rock left WWE. Speaking of The Rock, magkano kaya sweldo nito nung nasa WWE siya? Di ako magtataka kung si HHH ang may pinakamalaking sahod. Stacey Keibler said it in an interview na si HHH lang naman daw ang yumayaman sa WWE hehehe, and also, I am surprised about the late Eddie Guerrero's salary ganun lang pala kaliit.
Don't buy pirated cds...DVD is better.

WWE.com is listing that the company has officially changed its "Cyber Sunday" and "No Mercy" PPV names. The "Cyber Sunday" PPV is now being listed as "Annihilation" and the "No Mercy" PPV is now being listed as "Hell in a Cell."

I just miss the storylines way back in the late 80s and early 90s,
ngayon kasi halos walang natatapos na matinong match, parating may nanggugulo...

the show was ok.
i always wanted to see jericho's promo on a live event. i was one of the "hypocrites" who chanted y2j!

as expected, no edge.

funny thing is, the divas' tag team match is fun to watch!

here are the matches as i can remember:
1. john morrison d. shelton benjamin
2. mark henry d. evan bourne
3. melina & gail kim d. michelle mccool & alicia fox (with maria as guest ref)
4. khali (no manager) d. dolph ziggler
-- intermission --
5. dreamer d. christian & swagger (triple threat ecw title) (announced by tiffany)
6. mysterio d. jericho (ic title) with steamboat as guest ref (mysterio actually lost his mask during the bout although mukhang hindi kasama sa script hehe)
7. cm punk d. jeff hardy (world hvt title)

the show lasted for about 2 hrs 30min.
