The Sixth Sense - A semi-atheist officemate of mine started praying every night after watching this movie. He was afraid he would see...dead people. BOO !

The Exorcist - We were watching this using the office computer.
Dalawa lang kami. I needed to take a whiz, and my friend said : "Hoy ! Wag mo ko iwan dito !!" Hapon yun ha.

Ive watched a lot of scary, gore fest movies too.  But this one....Zombie Hellhouse, which is a classic film in the 70's i think is really
scary stuff.  The Fog, Ginger Snaps 2, 3.  Dog Soldiers, Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2. Wrong Turn, The Serpent and The Rainbow, disturbing
voodooism, The Grudge and Darkness Falls.  Also Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento Films are scary in its ambiance and story.

Kung slasher films, I really like Halloween and the Scream trilogy...

Kung horror, definitely The Exorcist (The Version You've Never Seen)... gustong-gusto ko yung spider-walk scene ni Regan sa stairs!!!

At kung gore nmn, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, di naman ganun ka-gory pero napapaisip ka lng na may mga tao pa lang ganun...

Try "The Haunting" the original 1962 version, then see if you can sleep that night!

I couldn't finish watching The Grudge kasi parati akong nanonood mag-isa.  15 minutes lang tapos last memory na sa dvd player.  Tried watching longer pero super hina naman ang volume para di ako magulat.  Must be the hypertension or something that I cannot last long in watching horror movies lately.  Hehe!

I go for Asian horror stuff rather than Hollywood stuff because the latter treats horror, particularly the supernatural as something that co-exists in everyday reality.  The lack of scoring and visual effects making it more chilling.  When you leave the theater or turn-off your player, the story and images linger, as if taunting your own reality.

My list:
1.  Ringu
2.  Ju-on
3.  Three
4.  Three Dumplings

But of course, there are also bad asian films such as this Indonesian version of "The Blair Witch Project" titled "Pontiak" which I saw at the Cinemanila festival a few years back.
To the table or to bed, you must come when you are bid.

1.The Changeling
2. The Eye - Part where a ghost suddenly goes forward raising her arms saying " What are you doing in my chair?" Ahhhhhhh! Then vaporizes into nothingness.
3. The Exorcist
Ars longa, Vita Brevis, Judicium dificile

I'm more of an action flick, sci-fi buff but the creepiest "scene" I've  seen, was like what he says:
For me, i got creeped out with the phantom boy that showed up in a few seconds in "Three men and a Baby".  O0

Its actually Ted Danson's StandOn Poster. Probably one the popular Holywood Urban Legend.

I've got to look into this...The last time I've watched that movie was definitely before I had a DVD player...I bet that I could get a better look now since its digital and my TV is twice the size as my previous...

The producers of the film were interviewed regarding this famous Urban Legend and they confirmed its not a ghost however during the time the VHS video was released they kept their mouth shut as it might affect the growing video sales of it.

Below is the link to the TV special I saw a few weeks ago.

Although I liked this movie, I found the underground scenes from Irreversible (when the two guys were looking for Tinea aka the guy who butt f* Monica, in the sluthouse or whatever they call that place) very disturbing because I believe those types of place really exist!

I haven't seen the exorcist yet(thank God) but I think the upcoming "Exorcism of Emily Rose" would also scare a lot (based on the trailers, at least). The claim is this movie was based on a real case to boot.

Locally (and recently) I've caught the movie Pasiyam (Matti) on cable and there were some scenes(with the medium), specially the finale that made my wife refuse to go and pee alone. :o It was a good thing because the feeling was certainly mutual. :-[

Dude, don't fall under the deceptive trailer of "Exorcism of Emily Rose" .. its basically more of a courtroom drama movie than a horror movie.

i have to agree with most of the people who said the exorcist as the scariest film ever.  i dont scare that easy but i really cannot bring myself to see it in the middle of the night all by myself.  it's just plain too creepy.

does the mothman prophecies count too?  i also find this one creepy specially the scene where richard gere talks to the mothman by the phone and he knows everything about him and says in time he will see his dead wife again?  sabagay you can  say that it's more of an xfiles clone but it still spooks me everytime i see it.

lastly, cannot remember the title of this tv flick i saw in the 90's, i think it was the haunting or something and there was this scene that one of the main characters went to bed, and when she laid her head on her pillows, she heard whispers coming through the pillow.   cannot really recall that much but that scene was scary.  could not sleep for days with a pillow.  does anybody remember that one.  all i can remember about it was that it was supposed to be based on real events.

Some of the scariest movies I saw were seen in the movie house for the first time.  But when the time came to see their DVD releases at home, the scare factor is no longer there.  Familiarity takes out much of the excitement in movie watching at home.   ;D  But that's just me.
