Official Philippine release date of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has been moved to Thursday, November 18. No pre-order promo for this title but Warner will demo the film and special features during the EB.

I think Warner is listening to us:

Since they shifted to Amaray-type cases, this is the first Warner release I've seen that actually has an insert!  :)

I mean, even my R1 Warners in Amaray-type cases don't have inserts these days.

^ luts, you can see the pics at the front page of this site.  :)

Saw the dvd earlier.  No slipcase so it won't match with the previous 2 Harry Potter DVDs which is in digipack.  :-\

Checked out a copy and I have to say that this is an excellent release. Video and audio quality are outstanding. The Special Features disc is very well done (with one of the best menus I've ever seen) and is well-worth your time. Warner got it right by balancing content that will appeal to both kids and adults.

Just got a copy... really wished they used digipack though... noticed that there's no videogram sticker as well.

Maybe firewired can ask Warner to provide a spare case and cover for the 2 previous DVDs to match this new release? Better still if they include inserts, too. Or am I asking too much?  ;D

Actually that's not a bad idea. New shipments of HP1 and HP2 will come in Amarays as well -- similar to the Warner SE line. I don't think they'll mind if we ask for new cases to match HP3. And I  still don't get why the rest of the world hates snappers and digi-packs... d**n shame.

By the way, I posted a larger version of the picture on the front page.

oh well so much for uniformity....what a bummer specially for collector's like us.  BTW, were the previous HP's released here in the Phils Region 1 DVDs?  Looked at my shelf again and they were indeed R1 and I remember buying it locally from our Astro stores. Hmmm...

No, no official Region 1 releases from Warner. If you pre-ordered through PinoyDVD, those are definitely Region 3.

I was looking at the digi-pak of HP2 last night -- sayang! Seems like HP3 is really going to be released in Amaray-type cases worldwide. No variants were approved by JK Rowling... unless the Koreans  manage to sneak something into the market before Christmas.

Not sure about when new versions of the disc will be released in Asia. Not this year or in 2005, but when the SE versions are developed, you can be sure that HP1 R3 will probably be widescreen.

dude might you be referring to the snapper case with cardboard cover rather than a cardoard slipcase? have a copy of jfk also kasi & it doesn't have a slipcase.  ;)

You're right, cardboard snapper case, not slipcase.

Di ko alam kung bibilhin ko ito.

I didn't like the 1st 2 movies and really hated the 3rd installment.

It needs a new director to awaken the movie audience, it kinda put me to sleep in the theater.

Sometimes things in the book need not be made exactly in the movies, because it's kinda in a different perspective.

Got my copy last night and sure enough, it's on amaray case. If not for my son who is eagerly anticipating it,  I would not have bought it if only to spite the studios who can't seem to have any conisderation for consumers who have bought the  first two and expect the third to fit nicely in their collection.  Parang akong bumili ng pirated at tinabi doon sa dalawa.

Well, blame it on the Regions 1, 2, and 4 collectors. It was their petition that convinced Warner to shift to plastic globally.

Anyway, got a clarification from Warner stating that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Region 3 will indeed be re-released in widescreen in March 2005.
