i havent really seen this model of diatone sir, most that i've seen are the giant bookshelfs, and the occassional medium sized ones. if you have read the previous postings its aHobbit that said his brother has this model and has brought it somewhere in marikina ata. try asking him nalang.

as far as i know, there were a lot of active surplus subs arriving from Yokohama and Kobe. i witnessed a container van opened in one warehouse here in Davao a month ago and it had about half a dozen active subs, including esoteric designs, by Yamaha, Sony, Pioneer, Diatone and Kenwood (some were really beautiful and truly high-end). the warehouse price range quoted was from P3K to P6K but in that case, everything was taken by traders who had cash deposits with the shipper.

surplus Jap speakers should be priced similar to their amps considering even Jap audiophiles think these are inferior to British and American counterparts. if i have to choose betwen a surplus Jap speaker and a used Brit bookshelf speaker with twice the price, i'd still buy the Brit speaker. thus, a reasonable price range for Jap surplus speaker pair should be from P3K to P6K. unless you got the esoterics and high end models that originally cost over Y200,000 (roughly $1,700 now, but only $800 if the exchange is based 20 years ago.)

Surplus powered subs would be another attractive and viable option over some entry level subs that are new. Espcially if they were originally in the mid to high end categories. Are there already powered subwoofers at the Pier?

yes there are... mostly pioneers and sonys, as i can recall they were of plastic designs or enclosure. but i may have overlooked the others.

well, jap speakers here are reasonably priced naman, mostly the asking price begins at 2.8k, haggle and you cn get it at a much lower price as the market for it is not yet as demanding as that of the cdps and the amps, kaya kunting tyaga lang sa tawaran. performance wise they are "wonderful" and for its price, they are "heaven" sent......

sa dulo sir, youll immediately notice it as several speakers are displayed over there, the other shop is chatty, almost sa dulo na din but is within the cluster shops....

almost all that i saw were the plastic enclosure type, yong parang pang HTIB, but they are power subs, of diff sizes din.
