Early details have begun to emerge on the special edition of the 1942 classic Bambi, which will arrive in shops next year. The two-disc package will be available to own from the 1st March, priced at around $30. The disc will carry digitally restored video and audio, along with a Walt's Annotated Bambi feature which molds a vocal reading of the studio founder's own notes from the film's development, with footage and production drawings. Also included will be additional scenes in various stages of development and a sneak peek at the new direct to video release of Bambi II: Great Prince of the Forest. I'm afraid that's all we have now, but if we hear anything else, we'll let you know. Thanks to Ernest Rister for the heads up.

my only comment with the artwork is the word Platinum Edition is placed above a gold background.. ala Lion King PE.. Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Alladdin used platinum/silver as background to the inscription..

nice classicman, i ordered this set from dvdempire so i can hold the item for the same price as i wait for the collector's gift set news for Bambi PE. unfortunately, nothing came.

After lion king, aladdin and "news" of cinderella collector's gift set, Disney broke its consistency (not a first time practice) and released Bambi PE without any lithos, book and senitye. sad news...
