Stargate SG-1
« on: Aug 23, 2001 at 02:43 AM »
After devouring the Season One DVD boxed set of the Stargate SG-1 TV series, Firewired and I are hooked! Badly. Is this show being aired on a local cable TV channel like AXN, does anyone know?

16 months later, here's a reply  ;D :

Yes, according to Guide Magazine, it airs on Saturdays, 6:00PM-7:00PM, on Solar.

Not sure when it started, this is my first time to notice it on the schedule.

Is anyone still watching this? I finally got caught up to the current season (watched seasons 8 and 9 these last few weeks). It's certainly not as good as the first few seasons but I can't seem to turn away. :)

I also started watching SG Atlantis. I'm midway into the first season. It's interesting enough. Just not as good as SG-1.

I have those episodes already as well. :) But since it seems that SG-1 10x03 is going to be a crossover episode, I figured I'll finish seasons 1 and 2 of Atlantis first before continuing.

One thing I like about Atlantis is they kill people even when they "don't have to". I'm referring to the Genii in The Storm in season 1. And these are humans, not aliens who are typically what they only kill in SG-1.

Yay! The Quest Part 2 (10x11) is already out. I was afraid I was going to have to wait till March.

I feel bad that this show is ending. I know they've had a good run and all (longest running sci-fi series in fact), but still, this was a really good show and SG Atlantis is just not in the same league. Well, it had to happen some time (could have happened as early as season 7 actually) and if I'm being honest, their best episodes and best seasons are probably behind them.

I guess we'll never know if Furlings really look like ewoks. ;D

With 4 episodes to go I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't seem like there's going to be a last grand battle with the ori before they finally sign off. I know it was unlikely that they were going to seal that storyline with a neat little bow but the remaining stories don't even seem to be dealing with them. I suppose they figured they took care of that story arc in episode 10x14. And I guess they weren't going to top episode 9x20 anyway. I just hope the series ender will do its 10 seasons justice. But then, that's a pretty tall order.

I actually liked the series ender. Not one of their better episodes by a longshot but I feel it's a pretty solid bookend. And I totally did not expect what they did regarding the Asgard. That was cool what they did/gave.

Goodbye Stargate SG-1! :'(

On the bright side I understand there are 2 TV movies in the works so there's at least that to look forward to. :)
