Is Aurum for music only? Is there any model (pref floorstanders) that is also good for HT. Does this come with center and rear as well?

Sir,

In theory all speakers that are good for music are good for home theater as well because more is required to reproduce good music in a 2 channel stereo set-up. However not all speakers good for home theater can be equally good for music.

Aurum Cantus' primary focus is in two channel music but they can also be used for home theater applications. Each of their line were made with center channels for this purpose. Their entry level line is the F-series which was developed primarily for home theater (although they are competitive too for music applications) F5508 and F6600 are the floorstanders, F5000C center and F5000R surrounds. Then there is the ribbon tweeter speakers Leisure 2SV set-up, then the Melody and finally the Supreme with Rhythm and Volla (which a client just got this month for HT/Music use).

I was able to audition the F5508 on music, it sounds better than my current audio/HT setup (Acoustic Research Status 50).

I was also able to audition the Leisure 2SV on music and it sounds excellent.

If you want to save space and just have one set of speakers for music and ht, go for the Leisure 2SV (I believe it also have a model for surrounds) and the leisure center speakers. I guess for around 60K, you should have an excellent, no-compromise audio and HT setup.

If budget is a concern, go with the F series, for around 25K for a 5 speaker setup, you will not be disappointed, sounds way better than most HT speakers I had a chance of listening to.

Contact Tyrone for an audition, they are very nice and accomodating people!

Drop by at my place (when you go to your brother's house) early next year, I should have aurum cantus for my HT setup by then.

For those who are still unaware; I would like to share the availability of Xindak Line Conditioners. They are pretty good value for money audiophile grade filters for polluted Philippine electricity. Some customers also use it for their TV and see significant improvement in picture quality.

Hi, good day

I am looking for floor standers to serve as my hi-fi audio set-up and would appreciate your advise as follows:

1. Which is better the F6600 or the F5508? I also have noticed that you have got the 8 ohm/88db rating while the previous batch (also indicated in their website) are 4 ohms/90db. I plan to conect these speakers to low watt tube amps and aslo to a set of Sonic impact t-amps. Which would be better, the 8ohm or the 4ohm sets?

2. Are these speakers bi-wireable?

3. What other floor standers would you recommned for audio application with a maximum budget of 25K.

4. Would appreaciate a price quote for the above.

I am new to this thread and decided to go on warm sounding amp. I was informed that you offer warm sounding SS amp (like a tube amp or close) Classic 6.4 amp to be exact.

I would like to know some facts about this amp. I search your site @ http://www.audioamplified.com and found no reference material on this. I also checked "Official Classic Thread" for the specs below:
