unfortunately Takaw is not hotter than Scorpio Nights... i think nothing is hotter than Scorpio not even the so called pene-movies of the mid 80's.

I thought it was Wilfredo Milan who did TAKAW TUKSO...I kept on remembering the initial W about the man who did that movie after I browsed Urian's Anthology....

Armando Lao is underrated....among my fave in his works are Jeffrey Jeturian's brilliant domestic drama directorial debut SANA PAG-IBIG NA and also my mom's fave because of the late Nida Blanca....her confrontation scene with Gerald Madrid is flawless....the man can be in the league of Ricky Lee, Doy del Mundo & Racquel Villavicencio....

and Chito Rono's LA VIDA ROSA was brilliant also.....

Willi Milan did Anak Ng Cabron and Bago Kumalat Ang Kamandag which won for Anthony Alonzo & Coney Reyes the Best Actor & Best Actress Awards at the 1983 MMFF besting favorites Phillip Salvador & Cecille Castillo for Karnal... he was more known for directing action flicks.

on the other hand William Pascual was well known for making films like Puppy Love with Gabby Concepcion & Janice de Belen and of course Asal Hayop most of which were produced by his sister Baby Pascual... remember their production outfit Baby Pascual & Associates?

there's a Tata Esteban flick that IMO is graphic and hotter than Scorpio Nights although not critically-acclaimed with Ma. Isabel Lopez & Michael de Mesa....the title has DILIM something like that.....

i know the movie you're talking about... it was produced by FLT Films and also stars Chanda Romero & Lito Gruet. too bad the title seems to escape me at the moment.

I've seen it many times especially during Holy Week....in fact you can already smell the Lenten season if you watch this anytime of the day.....brilliant.

I think there should be a poll on Mke de Leon's best flicks.....and I'll vote 100% for ITIM.

as much as i loved Itim my favorite Mike de Leon movie would be Kung Mangarap Ka't Magising. well Keating loves gothic horror films such as Gumising Ka Maruja & Feng Shui which i haven't seen yet but really looking forward to watching.  ;D

i know you're not a Noranian like me... but it's with Nora Aunor & Jay Ilagan. This was her first venture into producing and gave birth to NV Productions. it's a really interesting little film released in 1973.

i'm waiting for Noel's review of Feng Shui as well...

What was Peque's role in Gumising Ka Maruja? I've just finished reading the book of LINO Brocka the artist and his times.

And the old man's name was included on the cast.

Who megged Carmela, Jo?

I still consider Nora's performance in HIMALA the best in all of the actresses in Philippine cinema.

well it's about this young woman (Nora) who has just inherited a huge mansion who unknown to her is being terrorized by her own boyfriend (Jay) that drove her to insanity. it was filmed in grainy black & white which gave the movie an eerie look.

Carmela was directed by Danny Holmsen who also megged most of her teeny bopper movies at Sampaguita...

thanks Keating... i also loved her performance in Himala but for me 'Merika tops them all.

nakakatawa ka talaga...

were you talking about the famous 'Walang himala" scene? it was only one long shot... take one ang buong eksena with six or seven cameras. Bernal was great at handling crowd scenes.
