KoreanDvds.com

Has anyone ever tried ordering from KoreanDvds.com?

I came across their site and the really cheap prices of their dics (some are as low as $3) make it very attractive.

However, they have a disclaimer that if the discs were produced in Korea, these are under strict censorship and frontal nudity and excessive violence are cut-out.

Not that I'm really looking for those kind of shots, but I'd rather filter scenes on my own than have some censor tell me what should or should not be put in my dvd  >:(

Questions:
1.  Are they reliable (ordering and delivery, billing) ???
2.  Do they really censor? ???

Thanks  O0

;D In answer to your questions:

As to the first, I believe they're reliable. Hindi kasi registered mail so mas expedited. I ordered HERO UE from them and it arrived at the QC NIA Post in less than 10 days though I  got it  at a later date as post service really sucked. If I didn't personally picked the item up, I would have waited forever for their notification.

As the second, that is a risk we have to take but I don't think they're that toooo conservative when it comes to mature contents of a film.   With that caveat, we just have to exercise discretion and prudence  with whatever we order from that site.

Hope this helps

koreandvds do not censor the films.. the regulatory board and the manufacturing studio censor the films based on existing government policies..

be careful with streetsales since these dvds, though cheap, have low quality cover arts and are usually spin offs from original western dvd releases/transfers.. not sure about the legitimacy of  these dvds...

may naka-experience na ba sa inyong magbalik ng dvd kasi may sira? this is just my first time to order a dvd online, and sa koreandvd ako kumuha.

also, ano mas preferred niyo? regular airmail or express mail via EMS?

yup post office lagi.. no courier service from koreandvds. you may want to try yesasia if you want your orders delivered by a courier.

no concrete solution keating... with yesasia, just make sure you know more or less the titles or films you are looking for.

be careful with koreandvds' titles, they are selling some titles which are considered bootlegs. unfortunately, they are not aware that those are illegitimate discs.

be careful of the street sales featuring disney and criterion titles for a low price.  no one wants to be ripped off this early in the game. 8)

bootlegs are illegal dvd copies.  street sales when they sell dvd titles (with usually high prices in R1) for $3.00 to $9.00.

bro, question lang. do you really have to use red when you post? para kasing note ng mods at nagugulat ako.   8)

thanks to all those who replied.   :o

So i guess I'm back to good old YesAsia.com.  Very reliable.   :-*Very efficient.  ^-^ I once returned a disc to them (there were scratches which made it skip).  Since there weren't any stocks left, they gave me a rebate instead.

I don't like having my discs sent via EMS.  You gotta pick it up at NIA which is a loooonnnngggg waaaayyyy from QC. :-[

bro keating, so far no reports or news of bootleg Limited Editions from koreandvds. re the bootleg reports, the criterion titles are found to be direct lift from criterion R1 releases. even kingkong  LE was lifted from the criterion laser disc edition that's why they stop selling the LE title.

my main concern is the cancellation of orders which is usually made a week after release date.. hassle kasi. lost opportunities.

and yes, they charge agad even for preorders.. similar procedure with CD WOW.

Yeasia naman, always late in posting titles and not prompt in answering emails...

Thanks for the info....hem. Hassle nga if you pre-ordered the title then they cant ship it like what they did to your TROY Lim. Ed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will do wonders again to me if I ship it to our local P.O. in Caloocan.  :)
