Bought my first DVD Police Story Trilogy from KoreanDvds.com & it's a pleasant experience. I'm really impressed of their fast service. I got my order just 5 days after released.  I'm a happy & satisfied customer now :D

Thanks keating! My bad nga kasi the delays were due to koreandvds pala not Las Pinas or Alabang P.Os. Wala pa ako nakukuha using the discount.. still deciding which dvd to buy   :D but the Ninja Scroll I got looks good!

Sir, I just placed an order for Black Hawk Down SDE & Malena SE about 15 minutes ago.  ;D

I plan to preorder the Spider-man 1 & 2 Box Set but wanted to get your feedback first on the reliability of preorders at korean  ???

(medyo OT) have you ordered from Amazon UK? Are they as reliable as Amazon US?

Eli, it's Police Story Trilogy cost at $31.86 & Delivery was $12.90.  I got it na 5 days after release. It was my first pre-order experience at Koreandvd.com. I was surprised that EMS charged me P50 lang when I received it ;) Few days ago I ordered other DVDs & will see if the service is as fast as the first one & minimal tax/custom charge :D

Thanks! I'll try to check EMS for the box set I plan to get. The last batch of 2 dvds I ordered had EMS quoting it at $17!  :o Even the $12.90 they charged you is high for me kasi equivalent to 1 good dvd title na yon eh but I guess it's assurance for quick & safe delivery

Yes that's true. It's a bit pricey but rest assured of fast & safe delivery  :)  The Police story Trilogy has 3 movies so if the cost is spread out over 3 dvds..not bad...  ;D On the other hand if it's only a single dvd...hm.... masakit  :-[

Yes, they delivered direct to my office so it's very convenient if you don't mind the high shipping cost  ;)

Received my latest order from Koreandvds.com (Black Hawk Down, Superbit Deluxe LE & A Better Tomorrow LE) today which was placed on 27 Nov. So that's about 10 days! A bit slow compared to my previous order which only took 5 days.  The package received is in good condition. :)

Sir pchin, was this thru EMS again? My order was shipped supposedly Nov. 29 but from previous experience, I received them 3 weeks later..

Yes Eli, I used EMS. Is your order already released or just pre-order as this may delay your shipment. In your previous experience, perhaps you had selected the standard shipment that caused the 3-week delivery period? Let me know your order 29 Nov when u received it.  :)

Yes, it still was thru standard as I found the EMS too expensive. I ordered Malena & Black Hawk Down SDE. The delay before was actually with koreandvds and let me correct myself.. it was more than 4 weeks pala..

I will update everyone as soon as they arrive  :)

all this time.. i thought EMS is tax prepaid.. if this is the case, no tax is due for local customs in the country of destination, right?

$12.90 can be considered a big savings.. compared to customs tax which is P500 minimum..

really interested.. ill try to order using EMS next month.. di na kaya ngayon.. :)

hey guys..  thought you would like to know...

have chatted with one of the owners of this online store and i regret to inform you that they will no longer be accepting orders from our country in the coming weeks... reason being. 30-40% of orders sent are lost. i have asked him to continue accepting orders provided that EMS would be used. no concrete and absolute answer whatsover came from him.

if this would be the case.. too sad for our DVD collectors here... btw, China would also be removed from the list.. and he gave me some sort of trivia.. they received only 1% reported lost in UK..

This is indeed a sad news for Korean dvd collectors. Will the others follow also? So far korean dvds are the best in packaging and awesome features.

Using EMS as the only option for shipment is viable. Hope Koreandvd will consider this proposal. All these lost issues.... no thanks to the "crocodiles" always messing things up.... >:( What a bumper!

maybe all of us here can send them an e-mail asking them to reconsider... if they see the number of customers they will end up losing, maybe they will rethink their plans...  :-\

jeckjeck, i tried talking to the owner and he told me that orders from the Philippines is small in numbers and not as bulky as other countries and cant be considered "enough" volume for reconsideration. i asked him also about seoulselections.com's cheap courier service (but high customs taxes) and i got a reaction as if he doesn't care. well maybe it's just me.. you can catch michael via MSN messenger.. he blames our local post office for missing packages as if he was a native.. knowledge, i guess came from koreandvds research group.. if that exists.

parting line from him.. two words: We'll see.

 :-\

Hi Paul,

We're quite quick to point accusing fingers to the Post Office, and rightly so, as we've had numerous experience in this regard.  But I'd like to point out that there are also buyers who report to online sellers that they've lost their packages even if they receive them hoping to make a quick buck for the "extra" copies the online sellers usually send.  They have the Post Office as a ready alibi.  We should also be vigilant in denouncing them as they are also contributory to the fact that slowly but surely the Philippines is losing its credibility and place in the online trade industry.

Just venting out.

voj

p.s.  Sad to say that I don't have statistics to back up this claim, but have heard a lot of anecdotal experiences.

sir vojdiaz, with all due respect, i think the only solution in this case is a delivery confirmation shipping method which would serve as the contract signifying the receipt of the merchandise. though EMS is hurtful in our pockets, this would ensure that the item would be delivered fresh from the online merchant.. ideally of course, this should be the case.

regarding some members claiming that they have not received the item and ask for a replacement, though we know that this practice exists, we cannot prove this kind of circumstances in black and white for the simple reason that no one would admit that they have been engaging themselves in such practice.

i find merits in your stand regarding this topic, what we can do now as buyers/collectors is to question the acquisition process of each seller or collector... but that is a different subject altogether.

on the other hand, PO office bulk of my LE orders in las pinas post office were lost for reasons i cannot understand. i end up sending my packages as far as davao and pampanga just to ensure that near theft experiences would be minimized.. and then came AiR21..

oh well.. where are we to go?  ???
