pag lalagyan mo kase ng air-con, may hum pa yung air-con at kung may voltage fluctuation o kung nag-rerev yung motor ng air-con mo may power interruption ka pa. bigla na lang hihinto yung CD Player mo o TT mo

audioslave, if you like detail and clarity with dynamic bass and lucid vocals, eh Clearaudio yun. if you like dark and warm sounding, VPI yun. i suggest dagdagan mo na lang yang pera mo ang get a VPI ($800 without arm). visit wiredstate from time to time to get bargains! that's where i got the Clearaudio Sigma cartridge (list price is $1,200) for only P30K. Here's the picture.

Clearaudio also has an entry level Emotion table complete with arm and cartridge. Clearaudio is available from various dealers.

I take reviews with a bucket of salt, but for whatever it's worth here's the review and price in SoundStage!

Summary -

"All about dynamics, snap, and excitement"; "the attack on percussion instruments, which is the function of quick start/stop and wide dynamic range, was far beyond my expectations"; " bass was certainly tight, clean and tuneful…notable for the way in which it portrayed the size and reach of instruments such as acoustic bass."

Although I can attest to that based on my own Clearaudio gear, the best is to hear it for yourself.

Clearaudio reproduces music with no coloration. Give it a great material and it will sound great, give it a crappy material and it will sound just the same. There are other turntables in the median, i.e., sounds good all the time with crappy and great materials, but will never sound great.

Stereophile Class C equipment na pala ito... But who cares 'di ba, if it will not sound great for what you paid for.

Thanks Superman,

narrowed my search for a turntable to these three:

Pro-ject 2 (my budget option)
Clearaudio Emotion (I love the look of this turntable a bit pricey but real pretty!)
Rega P3 (how much is this?)

Favoring the Rega P3 as it is a british turntable (souvenir and turntable in one!) and I'll probably be able to get a good price for it a store was selling it for £298 without a cartridge...

I concur that Clearaudio has THE best service in the country. This is the same guy who carries VPI and I know many, many satisfied customers of both brands. As for the Emotion, its hard to believe that US$1,200 "only" buys you an entry level table but then again, the C-Class is also the entry level of Mercedes Sedans (except for those funnly little cars) and that's a lot for an "entry-level".

Of the one's I've heard, the Emotion/Satisfy/Aurum Classics setup is just a shade under being unforgiving on poor recordings and give just enough detail to give one the feeling that nearly any decent condition clean album in any Genre can be delivered with both dynamics and involvement. Just my GBP 0.02 on the matter.

Looks like a rebagged Clearaudio emotion fitted with a Satisfy tonearm. Only diference I see is the plinth and footings. I wonder how it sounds, hmmmmm.....

yep it's a rebadged clearaudio with satisfy tonearm and a few modifications by marantz.

i saw the review in hi fi world 02/05 issue but very expensive when you buy one. good thing, the review is available in acrobat reader on that same link.

as for auditions, i hope the distributor here can bring one.
