It's a pre-order. The movie was released 5 Jan & shipped on the same day. I got it on 11 Jan. Excluding Sat & Sun, that's only 4 or 5 working days.  :) In my past experience esp with EMS shipping from KoreanDVDs, it usually reached my doorstep btw 3 to 6 days.

so no deliveries on weekends pala... what did you get, paul? is that the Tears of the Sun Superbit?

Based on EMS delivery status, my order that was shipped last jan. 13 arrived today at the office of exchange here in manila at 8:50am. My 2 previous orders were delivered around 11am on the same day they arrived at the office of exchange which is always 8:50am on a weekday. It's already past 3:33pm and still no delivery. I guess this time they don't deliver on weekends. :( I'm in the Q.C. area.

just wondering, is there a weight limit for EMS packages? i mean i-deliver pa rin ba sa shipping address kahit na medyo mabigat  ::)

RNIverson,

Where do you live? The old guy who delivered my package yesterday was also very nice. Naka-cap pa sya na medyo luma na. Gusto ko ngang palitan yung cap nya eh.

Anyway, FYI lang to everyone. I forgot to post this yesterday but the box containing the dvds cracked open on the underside. Did not notice it immediately. Basta may opening sya sa ilalim na about 2 inches long at mukhang binuka para silipin yung laman -- customs inspection? It was hard to tell what was inside the box since the dvds were in bubble wrap pa. The last package I got thru EMS was re-taped because korean uses scotch tape and that one had scotch tape and packaging tape medyo haphazzardly lang linagay. Oh well, at least I still got the packages.  ;D ;D ;D

jeck, i live here in makati and pina-deliver ko ung package sa office, which is in ayala near MCPO  ;D  nde ko napansin kung may cap ung nag-deliver sa akin, pero matanda na rin. next time ko na lang siya bigyan ng tip, hehehe.

after reading ur post, tinignan ko kaagad ung box and there's a crack at the side. just a crack, nde butas na makikita ung loob. so i guess accident lang to. if i've known earlier that EMS is this good, then i shouldn't have used standard shipping dati. matagal na, hassle pa sa MCPO. meron na rin pala tayong EMS tracker, although thru phone lang ata. anybody who knows a site?  ::)

anyone knows the contact numbers of Philippine EMS Office?

i am now anxious of using this service for future orders. the waiting time is slowly eating me up.  before, i was able to get my packages 2 days after dispatched from US or other Asian countries. now, it's taking a longer time for delivery. 4-7 days if you're lucky. to top it all, i heard that some members are still waiting for packages shipped 2-3 weeks ago via ems.

worse part is, all my future LE pre-orders are to ship using EMS instead of DHL or Fedex... or regular air mail..  oh Gosh.. what's with the Philippine Post Office?

they dont even have online notification or numbers where we can check the status of our shipments---- when non-transparency induces fraud and makes an environment conducive to malicous acts...  tsk tsk tsk..

anyone knows the contact numbers of Philippine EMS Office?

Ano ang katumbas ng EMS for U.S. Postal Service? Is it Global Express Mail or something else?

My 3 Kung Fu Hustle KOR LEs shipped via EMS was held by the local EMS Customs. I got a notice last week and I picked the package up yesterday...

I kept wondering why it was held by customs until I saw the box... the box used by koreandvds was HUGE!! It was just a bit smaller than a balikbayan box! Grabe!!! Kaya pala na stop  >:(

Anyhoo, the customs officer computed tax amounting to about P1500 which may not be so bad for 3 LEs. As suggested by another member, I asked for a discount. The customs person asked for P1000. P500 difference was not much so I just paid the customs duty... did my duty as a citizen plus I did not feed the greed of our corrupt government workers... I think he was surprised I turned him down... Another customs officer descended on the desk where the package was opened for inspection... this lady naman kept saying na underdeclared daw yung value ng shipment ko since the KFH LE boxes were huge also... she kept asking how much they really were...  >:( I just pointed at the document taped to the box from koreandvds... hmmm... I think they were trying to get me to settle for the P1000 under the table deal kaya biglang humirit na dapat masmalaki yung tax... Well, I didn't cave and still paid the P1500+ which I got a receipt for  ;D ... did not want to be their buena mano for the week  ^-^

is that the old lady?  ;D  nakakainis yun, laging sumisingit sa usapan namin nung customs officer. laging hinahawakan at tinitngnan ung dvds, at naglelecture pa about some vrb policy

Thats right! Yung sa dulo nakaupo sa entrance pa lang... Ayaw umalis! Ang kulit! She kept insisiting na underdeclared yung value and kailangan ko raw magpresent ng ibang invoice!  ??? Tapos, pinapabuksan pa nya yung shrink wrap to prove na isang dvd lang yung laman ng KFH LE as shown on the pics! Sa laki daw kasi imposibleng isa lang laman  >:(

Sir, see you pala tomorrow... Pilitin ko talaga  ;D

NIA PO baby EMS Customs Section... one thing I can say, kung medyo hindi ka sanay, those customs guys can catch you off guard  ;D para bang good cop bad cop yung style nila... the old guy I spoke to came off as a meek, gentle type na para bang big favor ginagawa nya for giving you the "discounted" price... then there's the old lady who is supposed to be their boss kung tama ang intindi ko who was hard and arrogant  ;D

Diba dapat direct to your house ang package?  So why do you have to pick it up at the post office in Pasay?  O baka malaki naman masayado ang mga package nyo ;D  Maybe you have to split your orders para hindi naman masaydong malaki ang package para madala direct to your house.  But I think for now kilala na mga names nyo.  So the next time na may orders kayo galing Koreandvds e lagi na nilang ihohold for you to picke them up para humingi. !#!$%^!$ post office people.  Wala na talagang pag asa dito sa Philippines.  Sometimes I wish sa U.S. nalang ako nakatira >:(

yeah, I usually receive the EMS packages at home and this was my first EMS package for pick up at NIA PO... what made them hold the package was the size... it was about 3/4 the size of a balikbayan box... that's the biggest EMS package I have received so far...  :-\

bossy nga nung old lady

i think she's the boss...

anyhow, i think after the PO saga, EMS packages now are subject for inspection especially for packages coming from Taiwan and Korea.

the last time the EMS man delivered my package to my house, i paid the fee and gave extra for "merienda'. for the 5 packages ordered from EMS shipping stores, no problem (again) so far...

im still thinking of strategies for this shipping method..

the customs guy also sort of gave a heads up to me that they will be stricter in monitoring EMS packages... he said that packages that appear to have more than 1 or 2 DVDs or that do not have any details on the EMS tracking sheet will be X-rayed to determine the exact contents...  :P
