Sir Edwin,

I have noticed a friend of mine using the DIP8 sockets as an adaptor for SOIC. He flattens the pins a bit then mounts in to the DIP8 socket. It looks the same as the picture you posted. He's done it to a number of his op-amps successfully. Of course, he didn't use those Php 2.00 DIP8s, he used the Php 8.00 DIP8s from Alexan. Mas matibay daw and mas makapal iyung pins.
