Last time I was at the Mag.net store at Greenbelt, I saw:

1) Cain at Abel
2) Karnal
3) Manila By Night

I bought the lone copy of Manila by Night for 450 Php. It took me two trips to the store to get hold of the DVD. I went there last summer and I went home empty-handed. I returned in July and finally scored a copy.

There's also a mag.net store at Paseo Center along Paseo de Roxas in Makati. This building is the one with the McDonald's restaurant.

Naiintriga tuloy ako dyan sa mag.net store, is it a dvd shop or a magazine shop? hopefully, next week i can drop by greenbelt and score a copy of Manila by Night.

Gusto ko lang i-share... i went to the mag.net store, and saw a lot of sampaguita titles and other regal platinum/cinefilipino collection/unitel titles not to be found in your regular video shop. I was like WOW!

I saw several copies of Manila By Night (it was tucked away, on the back side, hindi mo pansin kasi it was covered by the titles prominently displayed). They had more than 8 copies.

Other regal platinum collection titles available includes Makiusap sa Diyos, Babae sa Bintana, Relasyon and Pahiram ng Isang Umaga. These titles you can find at your local Astro shop near you.

Cinefilipino.collection titles Lino Brocka's Cain at Abel and Marilou Diaz-Abaya's Karnal, is also available. (i bought the only copy of Karnal available at the store)

Even if i want to buy everything on display, i had to limit my purchase to two titles... so i settled with Manila By Night and Karnal.

Where exactly is that mag.net store?

I'll have my folks get those titles for me, kasi ang mahal if I buy it online through Regalfilms.com. I got my Manila By Night for $17.99 plus shipping eh. Kaya I think it's much cheaper if they buy it through a brick-and-mortar store dyan and then ship it through the regular postal mail which would probably amount to less than P500.

greenbelt 3. 3rd level. Its near the cinema ticket booth. mag.net is right under the escalator leading up to the cinema lobby. Right smack along the exit, in front of gonuts donut. the DVDs are under the counter. They are prominently displayed, so you wont have a hard time looking.

TIP:I suggest you look for the titles yourself because the sales people dont have the slightest clue what titles they are selling.

i asked for "manila by night/city after dark" and they immediately said "wala." i took time looking, and viola, andaming kopya. i said " eto oh, andami!", and all they can say is "ay."

i tried searching for titles found on the cinefilipino website at regular shops, but to no avail, no copies found.

Sa mag.net ko lang first time nakita ung mga titles naiyon. Cain at Abel, Karnal and Manila by Night.

However, titles like, Laro sa Baga, Makati Ave. (Office Girls), Fatima Buen Story, and Ina, Kapatid, Anak are not available.

Hopefully, on my next visit, will score Laro... and Ina, Kapatid...

Went to mag.net greenbelt again to see what's new...

I bought Brocka's Cain at Abel and Big Broadcast with Amalia Fuentes.

There is a big difference between the "Regal" Platinum Series sold in Astro stores and the ones sold by mag.net. The printing of the back cover and the spine are totally different, napasin ko lang. mag.net ones are with "cine.filipino" markings all over, however, the astro sold dvds have "regal." Iba kayang pressing?

Anyway, was not able to see Ina, Kapatid... and Fatima Buen. Next time hopefully.

Halos lahat ng mga platinum series ng Regal eh magaganda talaga at pang award winning pa. Kaya lang sayang at marami rin tayong matitinong pelikula na maliit lang ang budget kaya lumalabas na di maganda pag na transfer na sa dvd. Anyway ang habol ko lang naman eh magkaron ng kopya ng mga filipino movies na pang collectors items talaga. May mag re release kaya ng mga classic movie ni FPJ gaya ng Agila?

Since mag.net sometimes carry Sampaguita pictures...

I do hope that they get to have a copy of "Cover Girls" (Amy austria, Lorna T., and Eddie Garcia)..if they do I would rush in to get it.

tumawag ako sa unitel. sabi nila, regal has some given them some restrictions daw not so sell other titles locally. so i guess kaya wala yung ina kapatid anak. havent seen fatima buen too and others like hahamakin lahat.

hong kong holiday will be out daw locally early feb, sa powerbooks. so im really excited. fave ko kasi yun since childhood. theyre also remastering kurdapya yata, another gloria comedy flick. ive seen this on tv too when i was a kid.

restrictions? bakit kaya? nakakadismaya naman yan. Sayang, kung alam lang nila na maraming may gustong bumili. People from regal and unitel...

Re:hongkong holiday. that's good news. looking forward to kurdapya as well, i saw it before over at QTV's Ginintuang Telon. featuring interviews with the stars, fun watch.

When Christy (Lotlot De Leon) and her boyfriend Jojo (Ramon Christopher) come across a baby in an abandoned warehouse, they bring it home and attempt to locate the child’s parents. i was at ccp to catch cinemalaya, and to my surprise, the stall that used to occupy the ccp shop, now houses DVDs and other collectibles. and guess what they have the sought after regal platinum dvds that are not found anywhere else except the cinefilipino website.

i bought these titles: 450pesos each.

As of about a week ago, wala. And they had a very poor selection of maybe 5 titles at most.
