Yes. This is all-region, plays pdvd, and has 6 rca outputs for 5.1 channel since it has built-in DD and DTS decoder.

Finally, i had a problem with my Philips 5500s, sometimes it will on and play disc. after an hour or you will change the disc it will go "standby mode" and I will never make it ON again.. What seems to be the problem. I bought it last April 2006. It ended up the warranty period. My option is to buy a generic player.. Cause my son does the watchiing all the times...

P.S.

Is there someone here know where is the service center of philips here in Cavite or Makati area?

Tama ka pre, spindle motor ang culprit! pati daw yung spindle motor ribbon sira din (which i doubt). Total damage is P1.3k

Learned my lesson, next time kuha na ako ng extended warranty!  :'(

after 1 & 1/2 year, my 5500s is experiencing skippings, hangs & "no disc".  I tried using a lens cleaner, it worked for a while, pero ganun pa din 

I've noticed that Philips players now are less durable than they were before.

My previous 727k - broke down after 14months
My current 5500s - 16 months

good thing I got an extended warranty, but Abenson's St. Francis Square want to charge me P200 for the technician's transpo fee, if i bring the unit to them, i though it was a "worry free extended warranty"

suggest you email Philip's Customer Service, they'll recommend an authorized service center depending on your preferred area
