Thanks so much Audioboy.

Matagal ko ng gusto i-post ito but don't know how....good thing Levi came to assist... and was only recently that i borrowed a digicam! ;D

I hope i can post here next time the rear and surround back channel... nasa hiraman pa ang digicam ;D... and im still learning how to post pics! ;D

You got a great audio set-up.... that is my ideal tube set-up.  im positive it sounds great too!

Hope we can meet someday.  Cheers!

VERY NICE SETUP New Age :o :o!!!

I hope you dont mind if I ask/bug you with a few noobie questions  :D:

Bro, I have a spare Mission M72 and I plan to use it for audio. I also use a M34 for my HT. I was wondering why you preferred to use the floorstander for audio instead of the bookshelf (sorry, noobie here).

Where do you buy the Acoustic Boards?

How much is the Tube amp? Any other recommendations for Mission speakers? (low budget lang)

Whats a QuietLiner?

Is buying a dedicated CDP better than just using any spare dvd player I have in the house?

TIA  :D

Thanks so much Matzter for your appreciation.

I prefer the M74 in audio as i prefer a complete frequency kind of listening -low mid hi.  I find the M72 lacks the bass that I found in M74 but the M72 has smoother hi and mid...  sounds warmer than the M74.  M72 seamlessly coherent with  M7C2 (89dB also), M7ds (89dB) and M7c1i. Also, i used the M74 to the tube amp because it has a sensitivity of 91dB...and tubes love higher sensitivity speakers, but it also works well with the M72 but you have to increase the volume of the tube amp a bit as the M72 is only 89 dB.  I prefer the M72 when paired with the tube amp for listening to vocals, slow music, etc.... but if you want to rock, use the M74 (or M34 in your case, that i believe has a higher sensitivity about 92?), you'll never go wrong.

Acoustic boards are bought in any hardware stores or true value, handyman, what have you...this is what you use in the ceiling of most offices.... i put this to prevent unneccessary echoes in my room as it is all concrete.

Bought the tube amp at P26k only.  It depends on what Mission Speaker you are going to pair with the tube amp.  Even if they of the same class/family, they somehow differ in sound.  Say, the M72 is warmer sounding than the M74.  If you decided to pair the M72 with a tube amp, any tube amp will do, M72 is very flexible moreso, easier to drive. You may want to start with AMX amps, check out the thread here how it sounded but at the end of the day, let your ears decide.  Bring the M72 at phasetron and check it out.  Yan ang gusto ko sa M72, very handy in auditioning, unlike the M74!  Parang binuhat mo na buong system mo sa tindahan! ;D

Quietliner claimed to kill or shall we say tame the noise in the power outlets.

A dedicated cd player is better because it has no video path that will affect the sound.    For example, the Pioneer DV655 has a video off feature to provide pure audio output when listening to DVD-A or SACD or  plain cd only.

Till next!  just ask....

Thanks Sup, you got a nice audio set-up too.  Very meticulously thought of.

OT, im also a frequent visitor of Davao as the owner of the Royal Mandaya Hotel is a close friend, Col. Emil Escandor, the next mayor of Davao.  Also, the owner of Genesis 88 Cars, dealer of exotic cars near SM.  Dondi Montecillo in Manila buys his display of Nissan Skyline and other sportscar from Genesis.

Godspeed.

Thanks so much Cire2004 for your kind words.

Same here...when i feel down and out... i just turn on the HT and the tube....after watching my favorite concert dvd, which by the way most of my collections are concert dvds....the tube is hot and burning  by then.... and listen to my favorite cds naman... presto, nakalimutan kahit sandali ang mga problema... very practical nowadays to do when time's are hard...

Sana ganun din ang subukang gawin ng mga ibang members dito...let their thoughts be occupied by innovating or upgrading their audio or HT gears instead of doing nothing at home or doing bad?

yes juls.  i observed na smoother ang highs and airy than the stock chinese tube....right now im observing the rca 5814 in tandem with the rca 5751... running for about 1 hour pa lang..... parang mas type ko pa rin yung rca 12au7 black plates paired with rca 5751 combi, mas warmer tumunog and mas controlled ang bass... yun nga lang medyo bumaba ang gain pero tolerable pa din.... im testing it with Diana Krall Let's face the Music, Renee Olstead cds and patricia barber modern cool na bright tumunog... so far nag-improve ang mids and highs.... by the way, i did not change the power tubes ---stock EH EL84.

and besides, i got the tubes at an unbelievable price...pm kita.
