Floorstanders with 5 gen2 drivers at 92db sensitivity - each driver with its own enclosure with a common port..... this I gotta hear!

this opens up a lot of opportunity for those wanting to also go into audio aside from HT.

master jojo ask ko lang match ba ang digital out ng cdrom sa coax input ng receiver? i mean direct na using suitable connectors o need pa ng special circuit for this? plan ko kasi mag-diy ng cdp, i'll use the cdrom as transport and let my receiver handle the conversion from digital-analog. tia.

DIY_Master delivered the speakers for the EB and we spent the afternoon setting it up.

I don't really want to make detailed comments on how they sound. I'd rather prefer that those that attend the EB this Saturday make comments. Maybe just one opinion ... high-end sound at 10% the price.

Anthony says that the towers go down to 28 hz. If you look at them, they don't look like they can go that low but when you hear them ... you will be really surprised.

I did an audition of Anthony's DIY Proac Response 1 SC last Friday (June 12) afternoon, and I couldn't believe what my ears heard - an almost perfect copy! I know, because I had a pair of this Response 1 SC in Singapore before and knew very well its sonic signature, and comparing Anthony's custom made version, I could say it was a 95% approximation:

- neutral/transparent: Proac is renowned for its 'completely free from any coloration' promise, and Anthony's had this spot on: voices (Alison Krauss, Selena Jones) were very open and well delivered, even the guttural nuances and breathing very manifest; instruments on large orchestral works (Tsaikovsky's Swan Lake) were cleanly separated!
- expansive midrange: very broad range band
- tight bass: not as loud as others like 1 famous brand (and presently the award winning favorite) that I have but you hear it just right and in the right timing, tight, not wooly and does not linger more than necessary (fast, accurate timing); after listening to Anthony's Proac version, this is the other major reason why I am letting go of my famous brand (besides the midrange), which I now find "fatiguing" and switching to Anthony's.

Overall, very realistic and transparent that one expects from high end speakers, the comment of "high end at low price" is truly apt and well deserved! Another shining example of Filipino ingenuity!

Thanks for the nice review. Now listen to 7 clones in an acoustically-treated 48 square meter room, with proper electronic eq and a full orchestra. I think it is pretty magical. The speakers disappear. You hear the tiniest details.

^^ That's the reason why i didnt pursue buying the branded speakers i auditioned last month when i heard anthony's clones. Very detailed and very clean. And to think that when i auditioned anthony's clones it was under a non acoustically treated room, pero maganda pa rin ang tunog.

Most welcome, a noble start up venture like Anthony's deserves all our support! If only I were wealthy, I would have funded it as a Venture Capital project!

Incidentally, one of my friends brought home from Australia a custom made speaker - Lenehan (you can search it on the internet) and it was also another Proac 1SC - killer, according to the reviews (seems this Proac is the benchmark for all bookshelf speakers), and also from my personal audition. I think Anthony's can beat Proac and this Lenehan side-by-side, in the right set-up and using the same reference system, which I wasn't able to do in my audition. For one, the amplification was low, and the space too tight to give it ample separation to truly assess its soundstage. But already, my first listen had me converted!
