Yup, I saw it a few weeks ago, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.

For a while I thought they finally brought Comedy Central to SkyCable. :)

It also airs Mondays 12:30 am, encore broadcast of the same episode.  The funniest half-hour on television bar none.  If there's any show that can snap The Late Show with David Letterman's five-year winning streak as Emmy's Best Musical Variety Show it's this show -- and it did this year.  Jon Stewart is one dang funny guy. And there's already a thread here somewhere about this iirc...

Hey hey hey folks!

Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Global Edition -- 2004 Emmy Winner for Best Musical/Variety Show[/i] (ending the Letterman's 5-year streak) --  now airs on CNN Saturday and Sunday nights at a more decent 11:30 pm.  Thank you Daylight Saving Time!

If you aren't hooked yet, now's the best time to get.

Bill Clinton to Appear on 'Daily Show'

From Yahoo! News. Fri Aug 6,11:22 AM ET

NEW YORK - Bill Clinton has been all over television promoting his new book. But one show he won't be visiting is "Saturday Night Live."

The former president has turned down an invitation to be guest host of the NBC sketch-comedy series next season, spokesman Marc Liepis confirmed Friday. No reason was given for Clinton rejecting the offer, first reported by TV Guide Online.

But far from going into retreat, Clinton will sit down with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "Daily Show" Monday at 11 p.m. EDT, presumably to say more about his best-selling memoir, "My Life," as well as global affairs and the presidential race.

This appearance comes on the heels of Clinton's guest shot on CBS' "Late Show" Tuesday, when he brought a copy of his book as a birthday gift for host David Letterman's 9-month-old son. Meanwhile, Clinton gave Letterman a rare ratings win over NBC's "Tonight Show," delivering the biggest audience for "Late Show" since last March, when Janet Jackson  drew a crowd for her first post-Super Bowl interview.

Fueled by Clinton's ongoing publicity blitz, his book has sold more than 1.5 million copies since its June 22 release.

---- end -----

What are the chances this will be the one guest interview shown on Global Ed next weekend? I'd say 100%.  But of course we'd only get to see it if the show actually escapes pre-empting -- no riots or terror attacks or invasions or to cover.  So if you toast or pray or wish for World Peace on a regular basis, this is one time to do it like you mean it, eyes closed and everything. ;D

The Daily Show (not the CNN Global Edition but the one on Comedy Central) is aired on JackTV (ch 17 on Sky) Mondays through Thursdays at 9:30pm.

The Global Edition air times that I've discovered on CNN are Saturdays 8:30pm and Sundays 3:30pm. (Anyone know where to check for accurate CNN schedules? I had to check CNN every half hour the other week to find these air times)

Still a funny show. :)

BTW, while looking for this thread I also found this. Perhaps something to merge?

I block 9:30 PMs to see this show. Imagine what a Philippine edition might be.

Wassup Wassup would only like to be The Daily Show but they never do any truly ballsy, stinging satire. It's probably because Filipinos are more likely to be pikon.

Try catching "Totoo TV" with Maverick and Ariel on Ch. 5. They're much closer to TDS than Wassup will ever be.

Hey, did anyone see Jon Stewart completely DESTROY that guy from CNBC, Jim Cramer? Oh, my God. It was beautiful.

I wished we had a show like that here which cuts through all the political and societal b.s. in our society.

A few Filipinos got their panties in a twist again when Former President Corazon Aquino was referred to as a "slut" in a segment of The Daily Show. Here's the clip:

Thank God it didn't reach to DH-level of hysteria.
