Columbia has kindly sent over artwork for the new Ghostbusters Giftset which includes both of the popular films. Each will feature newly remastered video, along with a collectible scrapbook created especially for this edition, audio commentary with Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Joe Medjuck, three featurettes, deleted scenes, multi-angle features, storyboards and two ectoplasmic episodes from the hilarious 1988 animated television series Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters. Audio will be provided by English Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. You'll be able to own this one from the 2nd August this year, priced at around $19.94 or thereabouts.

Update from DVDAnswers, Columbia has decided to release Ghostbusters I in Widescreen also (for now). Let's hope they don't change their minds again.

None so far jore. Intuition ko lang hehehe....but as you can see they already re-release some 80's stuff like STAND BY ME, SILVERADO and the coming GHOSTBUSTERS in another edition. So I hope ST. ELMO'S fire will follow.

After the initial 'Full Screen' scare Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have gone on record confirming both films will be presented in anamorphic widescreen on the forthcoming Giftset.

There are many titles in their catalogue that are worth to be release in special editions bro like TOOTSIE, AGAINST ALL ODDS, THE SEVENTH SIGN, ABOUT LAST NIGHT and FROM HERE TO ETERNITY, although the last one was not from the 80's.

the confirmation that both films will be in anamorphic widescreen is indeed good news

......but the back coverart posted above shows that ghostbusters 1 is in 1.33:1 aspect ratio or FULL SCREEN, it's probably a typo......nonetheless this must have caused the confusion about this release......
