Foreign language R1s to be released in the coming weeks and on my pre-order list:

>> THREE COLORS TRILOGY (RED/WHITE/BLUE) by Kieslowski

>> CINEMA PARADISO - NEW VERSION (This contains the extended version and the original version.  The extended version is WIDESCREEN, as compared to the FULL SCREEN version that's now available in the local shops)

>> BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - RESTORED EDITION/ CRITERION COLLECTION  (This is not the Disney version, altho that one is also a keeper.)

>> WAR AND PEACE (Not to be confused with the Hollywood version.  This is the 7-hour Russian feature film that won the Oscar way back when.  There are 2 DVD releases listed.  The first one is on 3 discs/FULL SCREEN.  The second one -- on 4 discs/WIDESCREEN -- was scheduled for release last December but has been delayed in production.)

I am hoping to see the Israeli movie LATE MARRIAGE which was banned in last year's Israeli festival in Glorietta or was it Greenbelt. Also, the controversial Monica Belluci film IRREVERSIBLE.

I recently saw Happy Times by Zhang Yimou. Not that great but still an important film.

-not exactly fond of reading sub-titles, but these films were worth the effort

nice topic.

di ko alam na meron pala nito.

i have:

amelie
y tu mama tambien
sex and lucia

mukhang madadagdagan ng maraming foreign (non-american / non-pinoy) dvd ang collection ko.

i actually like those that were shown in the last CINEMANILA...
