Pareng gladiator,

I have a Harman-Kardon CD491 cassette recorder with a couple of things to fix. It won't do FF or rewind, I understand it uses solenoids for that. Also, the recording bias control needs adjusting I think, and I can't get them to work within the meter.

Please say it can be fixed at your shop! Thanks.

The remote control function of my Pioneer AVR (vsx-455) broke.  I have isolated the problem to the avr itself coz i tried two remote control units already and the unit won't respond.

How much will it cost for replacement of the defective IR receiver on the AVR?

Thanks,

hi, everyone!

i'm just wondering if anyone here has a theory as to what's wrong with the generic vcd player i'm using as an audio source based on the symptoms described below.

it doesn't play any kind of discs when it is newly switched on. while the player recognizes the disc, no music comes out. all you can hear is noise, as if the search/scan button has been pressed. however, if you let the player warm up a bit (about 15 minutes or so), it plays without problems.

any theories?

thanks.

thanks for replying, johndoe. i do hope that cleaning the lens would solve the problem. though i'm not too optimistic that cleaning the lens will solve the problem as the symptoms disappear as the player warms up. i'll give it a try, nevertheless.

thanks again.
