Hate to compare but this and Pinoy Blonde covered roughly the same territory . . .

. . .and Big Time was way way funnier. Superior in every respect.

Codified: a jologs Guy Ritchie. (In parts, better than Mr. Madonna, I thought.)

(Mansyon, the short film I saw it with, was also quite good.)

Noel: http://www.arkeofilms.com/bigtime/

I love the blurbs:

"medyo magulo ang kwento, but it's well made" - mike de leon, director
"ok naman" - doy del mundo, screenplay writer

it's a bit of a mix between lock stock and bottle rocket. a comedy. very well made; everything is clean from cinematography to editing to prod design to sound. i've been telling them to send you a copy noel. i'll follow up on that.

Just saw this one at U.P. Film Institute and its great, even better than PINOY BLONDE. The technical aspects are top notch same with the ensemble acting of all the cast. More indie flicks like this and Philippine cinema will be save finally from comatose state.

This film needs again our support just like what we did to MAXIMO. Groundbreaking, but I haven't seen any trailer and tv spots.

yep, and as usual, the first few days are critical because it will determine whether they pull it out of the theaters or not.

i don''t think so.  though i wonder also why Star Cinema backed Maximo.  i don' think they owned it.  though i guess they just new a good thing when they saw it.

They moved it to January 25, which is a good idea, because baka masapawan sila ng Narnia.  APMO came in the week right between Potter and King Kong and so was able to dodge both.  Hopefully Big Time will be as lucky. ;D

Will other companies back-up BIG TIME? It badly needs promos and marketing blitz, joey.

as far as i know is that they are marketing and distributing it themselves and so they need all the help they can get.  so it is very important we spread word-of-mouth, especially for the opening day, so that it will reach the weekend.

Yeah opening day is very crucial, it might be first day, last day. MAGNIFICO lasted for only three days in Sm Cinema.

Howlingly funny. Guy Ritchie in the Filipino idiom (though the ending is more Tarantino than Ritchie). At the same time, Guy Ritchie is a rather limited filmmaker, and Big Time's flaws are similar to your typical Ritchie film.

Still, it is impossible to dislike a film whose best joke's punchline is "Toni Rose Gayda". I doubt if it will survive past today in SM, so let's hope they have the good sense to release it on DVD or VCD.
