i heard them. not bad. pero for the price, i'd stick with my Energy still.

edit: i mean, they're about the same list p[rice as the connoisseurs. i still choose the energy connoisseurs over them.. somehow, the energy has the cleaerer mids and sweeter highs parin.

bass extension, it does win. pero.. i got the sub for it. and i find it to be a bit boomy for me.

i stumbled upon an old model of this brand, it's a 3-way floorstander, US made, it says "reference 50" i guess it's the model & "emit-R" just below tweeter, & being sold for only Php13,500.00 at baka matawaran pa hangang Php10k.....

questions lang po sa mga audiophile members who happened to use or come accross w/ this model:  is this a legit infinity model, kelan kaya ito lumabas, is it good to use on an HT that's 80% - 20% (video - audio ratio) usage & is it reasonably priced considering that it's an old model.......

hi. My only experience with Infinities is with my Kappa 7 and truth to say this speaker i rank on the same level with my yamaha NS1000 monitor and AR90.

They look good, sound good and feel good. Yes, feel good because the wood work of the kappa infinities is IMHO one of the best. I dont know about the reference 50... I have also heard an Infinity RS1000, an RS3000 and the RS5000, but i love my kappa 7 more. Infinities have a very strong following in the US. A lot of OFWs brought home pairs of these nice speakers and I got my pair from an OFW.

Please post your comments on the Reference 50 if you audition them.

the Reference 50 that i saw is also a good looking speaker, & mukha syang matibay at ang bigat nya......i haven't auditioned it that much so i can't give comments on its sound yet but am planning to do so very soon & if i can huggle it down to P10k i might even buy it ......BTW, it is still brand new complete w/ a box at hindi sya surplus

Sir, I will be waiting with avid interest for your update. Bihira lang kasi ang nakikita kong inifinity sa buy and sell. I've been seeing an infinity reference 60 for sale at 15000 sa buy and sell mag. I think the unit is being sold by a shop in evangelista pasay.

i've kept track of the buy and sell quoted prices for infinities.

Once I saw an infinity kappa 8 advertised for 28,000 sa buy and sell.
An SM120 for Php 7500, i believe there's one unit now being sold sa PinoyDVD.

a Reference 10 for 7500. This is just a small bookshelf.
An RS 1000 for 3800..
An RS1a for 8500.

These should give you an idea of the asking prices of infinities in our local buy and sell.
The reference 60 was advertised at this number:

INFINITY SPEAKER 15,000 REF60. 637-0100 loc 3033 or (0927) 4446582.

this might be a higher model speaker than the reference 50 you are now looking at. Except that your's seem to be in pristine condition.

Well the lower price the better. I tried all the negotiation skills I've learned in corporate life to pull down the kappa 7 price to a 4 digit figure. I didnt even call the seller of the kappa 8 selling his for 28,000. I cant afford that one.  Boxed and unused pala ung reference 50 ano?

i also own a pair of vintage Infinities (RSa) and I'm in the lookout for another.

and also, i would just like to know what amp/s have you used with your Kappa 7 and found to be best combination?

I visited Evangelista early this week and saw a pair of ininity Reference 2... and an RS1000. They'd probably sell for 3500 plus or minus.

(last month someone also at evangelista told me he was selling his Kappa 9 for 80,000.... i just smiled and turned away... )
