The only other locally produced pinoy dvd i've seen is 'burlesk queen ngayon' - which totally sucked! Aside from the dvd containing the edited version (as noted in an earlier posting in this thread), the picture quality was not different from the vhs version, which is not saying much, considering the price difference & dvd technology potentials.
So i guess for now, i'l just avoid the viva & regal dvd releases....
I've seen some tagalog dvds produced in the US. Picture quality is at par with hollywood dvd releases. Dvd ang dating, hindi vhs-looking with matching tape creases at the bottom or top edge pa kung minsan (as in the viva releases)... Except for "curse of the vampires", which I had to get since it was directed by the late great filipino master gerry de leon - the overall quality was WAY BELOW the film's grade-B genre!
