Presently the speakears I am using is also a DIY bought locally 4" driver and 1" tweeter only.  But it fills my room with sweet music.

So what is your initial impressions with the SEX amp? Any comments with regards to your ss gears? It is coupled to your DIY preamp right?

I have compared it to my HT amp and the difference is night and day,  I love the tube amps mids and highs very clear and soothing to my ears.

Presently the amp is coupled to my SS DIY preamp, I have yet to make a preamp. Hope to make one soon, and get a high sensitivity speakers for it as well.

i have designs made and will make the prototype. features are:

1. voltage doubler using fred rectifier to two 1000ufd/250volts series connected caps.
2. filter choke then   to 385ufd/450volt 105*C caps
3. all transistor regulation to 350volts for line stage, 305volts to phono amp stage.
4. 12volt dc supplies for heaters, 7025 heaters wired in series, separate heater supply for the upper 12bh7 stages,
5. power supply assembled on an FR4 glass epoxy board, instead of phonolic board.
6. power trasformer shall have copper foil electrostatic sheilds.

voltage doublers as opposed to full wave bridge is favored by many japanese designers! for tubes they are very attractive.

wow. very attractive indeed.
will wait for the initial result of the prototype, for now time to search for sources of the caps and the FR4 boards.

Thanks
