Help : Static sound coming out of speakers.
« on: Aug 09, 2005 at 12:22 PM »
Just wanna ask your help on this guys.
I played "the day after tommorow" and "kung fu hustle" (both pdvd's) on my simple HT.
On effects part of the films, there was something like static sounds coming out of the speakers.
The volume was on 10'clock with DTS tracks.  My first assumption was my fronts was at fault, since
they were old school kenwood-trios. But I recently upgraded them to wharfs 8.1 and the static was still
there.   :'( .  Im running out of ideas, Im sure that the wiring is not shorted.
BTw, my receiver is a Yamaha rx-v520.

TIA

can you pinpoint which speaker does it comes from?

does it come from the fronts only?
the center only?
the surrounds only?

or all of the above?

does your speakers able to handle the power output of your Yammy?

it can be distortion or signal clipping but it's too early to judge until we have more data on your setup.

regards

sorry forgot to mention, its coming from the fronts only.

basing from the receivers manual, it says 120watts per channel.  Im currently using wharf 8.1 as
my fronts. I believe it can handel that power, and besides I havent tried using it on full volume.

Im not sure about distortion or signal clipping since I experience this problem only on the dvd's mention above.

thanks!

simple process of elimination muna sir...

try a different dvd disc with the same title just to be sure it's not the disc.  ;)
