are the corrected boxed sets already available in the market or are they still selling the ones with kinks?

A friend of mine received it as a gift for his b-day from his wife. Nabili daw noong wife niya sa BestBuy and it is the corrected version. It has that V2 printed on the bar code sticker...
I'm so mad since I'm still waiting for my corrected version. I should have just waited!  >:(

Yaaaaay!

I came home last week to find that my replacement BTTF DVDs finally arrived! As expected (i read the discussions in the overseas sites), they came in two clear jewel cases.

Yaaaaaay!

I came home last night to discover that they sent me a second set of the corrected discs! Talk about customer service.

Now i have three sets of Back to the Futre discs 2 & 3.

Up to when can we send out the discs to get the corrected versions? And do we have to send the receipt also?

I don't think there is a deadline.

No need for e receipt (like me since i got mine off Amazon).

However you may want to write to them first. I read on some message boards that for some overseas customers they waived the sending of the original discs (they just needed a serial number or something). You just need to write to their customer service center and explain your predicament. You see for US customers, Universal provided a free postage-paid mailer if you called this 1-800 number and they can't do this for foreign owners.

Do I need to be a US resident in order to get that free-postage? Because I might be going over there some time this year. As long as I use a US address, would that be OK?  But I do hope they will send the replacement while I'm still there or else I'll be coming home empty handed.  ;D

I was able to order the BTTF Trilogy through Charbit last December.   When I read that there was a glitch in the DVD transfer, I initially thought that returns from the US (together with receipt) would only be entertained.  So, I thought that my boxed set would not be qualified for an exchange.  I  later learned that some of you were able to get an exchange even without sending the defective discs or proof of purchase back.

I know that there is an address to which you can write to through snail mail.  However, does anyone know if there is an email address I can write to regarding inquiries concerning this matter?  I would really appreciate it -- sending snail mail would take weeks, if not months, before one would be able to receive a reply from them.

Thanks!

I sent in my defective copies back in February and still have not gotten the corrected ones yet.
So I just called Universal's Toll Free number to inquire. They apologized for the delay but can't give me any explanation for the delay. They said they will send me the corrected copies today for next day delivery service at their expense. So hoping I'll get em' tomorrow...  :P

i have received my replacements in the mail today. will test it later once i get home. the good thing is i didn't have to send my old dvds back  ;D

for those here in the philippines who want the corrected version, read the faq here, specifically this part:

=======================================
***Replacements For International Customers with R1 Release:***
=======================================
Two options:

One you can just send your discs to the customer service center: Back to the Future DVD Returns, PO Box 224468, Dallas, Texas 75260. send the discs yourself to the above address, with the following info: Name, Full Mailing Address, Daytime Phone, Reason for Return (hah!). Package Discs up without the case, just discs 2 and 3 and no receipt is needed. Don't worry too much about protecting them for shipping, as Universal will be destroying the discs anyway.

Two, you can call or email Melissa McGee for Canadian returns. Some international customers have been able to get replacement discs without even returning their faulty ones via Melissa. Email [email protected] or call (866) 532-2202. Just write her a polite email/call and ask for instructions as an international customer and it's likely they'll just take your address and ship you new ones.

There does not appear to be a postage paid mailer program for international customers (like their is for US and Canada)- but many have gotten replacement discs by simply sending their faulty ones back to the Texas address and including their overseas shipping address and information.

Got my reply from her....unfortunate for me....I bought it from amazon US....she only entertains or handle Canadian bought discs....so I was redirected to a US group which requires sending the "faulty" discs... hassle....

Got my reply from Melissa McGee, as follows:

Hi xxxxxx,

Thank you for your email.

We will most certainly replace your discs and as an international customer, we do not require your old discs. Please supply your mailing information and we will send you replacements within the next couple of weeks. Please note that this is for the widescreen Canadian version only (bilingual English and French packaging).

I was finally able to watch the corrected discs over the weekend and it is definitely worth the hassle of exchanging it.
But I guess if you're really not a die-hard BTTF fan and you're not looking for the errors/misframed scenes eh puwede na rin yoong dati.

I'm planning to get the V2 of Back to the Future Box Set. Are there any problems with it? Glitches, pauses, etc? Is it worth getting?

Yes, you just have to send your mailing information (i.e., name and address).  They will be sending a message confirming receipt of your information and informing you that they'll be sending the discs in a couple of weeks.

Judging from the other posts, I don't really expect the replacement discs to arrive soon.  So, hintay na lang ako.  Actually, there's no rush.
