Eh di naman widescreen yung tv ko eh. full screen po. that's why full screen is better. kasi full frame, mas malaki yung view. yung widescreen kasi putol yung itaas and ibaba diba? di na nga masyadong malaki yung tv ko tapos widescreen pa. edi lalong lumiit yung frame.

to answer your question mem, i don't think the full screen edition of rotk will be released here based on my experiences with the first two dvds. they released only the widescreen editions as i can remember. full screen editions are available in r1 as far as i know, maybe you can ask r3 buyers from hk, singapore or korea if they're available.

i think to each is own, others prefer full screen editions, others widescreens. they wouldn't release full screen editions if there's no market. there is a market but only a few. so why ridicule these people?!

local retailers probably won't release the FS version of ROTK, but several sellers here will surely be able to source a copy out for you with no trouble at all (read: benny, emildjr, PARC).

Just see HOW MUCH of the picture is lost. kahit na yung pinapanooran ko was 20" lang na tv. Plenty of information is simply lost dahil yung pic.

All you have to realize is how much 'shorter' the full screen version is to the oiringal ratio. and you should easily tell just how much information is chopped off.

Well, I guess it's MEMs preferrence kung anong mas guto niya. For me ( and I guess for the most of us), mas maganda talaga ang widescreen editon ng ROTK (HEHEHE para hindi OT) kasi you get the complete picture. Mukha lang mas malaki yung full screen kasi it occupies the entire screen pero may putol naman. Just look at greatbops's example and behold!.

i think the kids prefer full screen..especially if its a cartoon movie..like i did when i was a kid..hehe..but now my eyes were opened to the wonders of widescreen! now i always make sure i buy a widescreen dvd!

excited na ako to get my ROTK. Sana ... sana ... they will release it earlier than May 31st.

Lalo akong hindi makapag intay kasi my mother-in-law texted me na in the states they will release it on the 24th and they can get it for $15.00, ask niya ako if we wanted a copy ... Haaaaaaay naguguluhan ako if I will get the FREE one from her or wait till the 31st nalang and get my reserved copy from astrovision for a much higher price.

I have a cousin working for the customs. He told me that he heard over there that the R1 LOTR:ROTK that's supposed to be released here on May 26 then moved to May 31 will be delayed even further by as much as a few more weeks. Earlist daw would be by around the middle of June. Don't ask me about the details, that's all I know about it. :'( :'( :'(

well, i'm still hoping it comes out on may 31.

i guess we'll have to wait for an official announcement from c-interactive kung pushed back nga to june.
(and they better have an explanation, if that's true.

nakita ko ung R1 ROTK sa shangri-la pero ndi sya US version. canadian ata sya kasi french ata ung may nakasulat sa cover art at ndi blue ang casing niya. its just ordinary black.
