well here's some more info about the dvds from Jeremy- for dvd.ign editor. he posted this at ign's messageboards.

" am extremely tired right now and cannot write up a full rundown on what I just saw, but New Line treated Comic Con to not only a full Extended Edition Preview like the Theatrical DVDs had, but also THREE complete scenes from the Extended Edition, an interview snippet NOT INCLUDED on the DVD, and a Q&A session with the DVD producers, LOTR Producer Rick Porras, and FARAMIR AND PIPPIN!

The three scenes shown were:

Faramir and Eowyn, five days after the Houses of Healing, falling for each other.

Faramir and Pippin talking about how Pippin's Gondorian clothing was Faramir's from when he was a child.

Extended escape from The Paths of the Dead. Skulls galore.

The preview showed lots of Houses of Healing, more battles, Frodo and Sam joining the Column of Orcs, SARUMAN, the Mouth of Sauron, and the Witch King vs. Gandalf and a lot more.

Tons of stuff and I have it all in my head. I'll be doing a HUGE write-up for Andy soon. "

The scene where Pippin finds Merry is also extended on the DVD. Now, Pippin searches the fields for an entire day after everyone goes back into the city and now finds Merry at night

Q: Kick ass. Did you see anything with Christopher Lee? Oh duh I see where you said you saw him in the preview. Either way Im excited about this.

A: SARUMAN FIREBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mouth of Sauron looks great.

Oh, and I forgot Frodo and Sam at the Crossroads

Tired.

The gift set includes the four disc set, a statue of Minas Tirith (along with a send away offer for a matching Minas Morgul), and an additional DVD titled "Creating the Lord of the Rings Symphony" which includes concert footage from Shore's touring Symphony.

Artwork on the discs:

Disc One: Felbeast
Disc Two: Looks like Cirith Ungol
Disc Three: Looks like a figure walking across Mordor
Disc Four: Minas Morgul

there's the answer of how to obtain Minas Morgul.. it's a send away card.

from www.thedigitalbits.com:

Todd and I were also on hand this weekend as New Line finally revealed more details about the forthcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Special Extended DVD Edition (currently set to street in December - date TBA). The set will feature more than 50 additional minutes of footage, including some 300 additional effect shots. Among the new scenes we were able to preview this weekend were: the final confrontation between Gandalf and Sarumon at Isengard, the "mouth" of Sauron at the Black Gate, Aragorn revealing the sword Anduril to Sauron's eye in the Seeing-stone, the confrontation between the Witch King and Gandalf at Minas Tirith, more battle footage on the Pelennor fields, Frodo and Sam marching with Sauron's forces disguised as Orcs, Faramir telling Denethor that he would never use the power of the Ring, Aragorn looking down upon a fleet of Corsair ships from a ridgetop, Faramir and Éowyn at the House of Healing, Merry pledging allegiance to King Theoden at Gondor, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli narrowly escaping an avalanche of skulls deep inside the Dwimorberg and MUCH more. From what we've seen, this final extended cut promises to be every bit as good as the previous two. We also learned that the set will feature more than 20 hours of supplemental content.

That's not all. In addition to the 4 disc set, there will also be another special collector's gift set, that will include the 4-disc Extended Edition along with a bonus DVD - Howard Shore: Creating the Lord of the Rings Symphony - A Composer's Journey Through Middle-earth - and a miniature Sideshow/Weta statue of Minas Tirith, which doubles as a trinket box.

uh.. maybe the fact that NO ELVES SHOULD OF EVEN BEEN AT HELM's Deep got something to do with it. Hence, Haldir should of never been slain. Eomer should of reconciled with theoden ways before Helm's Deep. and not show up with Gandalf at the end of defense.

OT...but look at this..

Lord of the Rings Topps Autograph Mini Master Set

FROM the owner...

Nothing like this has ever been for sale before and nothing like it will ever sell again! What you see above is a Custom framed and double matted mini-master set of 24 of the Topps Lord of the Rings autograph cards. All of the rarest and hardest to find autographs are included. This piece was made in November of 2003 and includes one autograph from every cast member who signed up to that point (a couple months later the 2nd Return of the King edition came out with the aditional three signers and now the Return of the King update is out with two new signers -- But this is every cast member who signed a card before those two releases!!) The entire piece measures aprox. 60 x 45 x 2" and weighs well over 25 pounds. It is beautifully double matted and framed in a rich wooden frame. The cost for this custom framing job was $628. I spent close to $3300 putting this entire piece together. --- Set among the 24 autographs is an original double sided theatrical release 27x40'' poster from The Fellowship of the Rings.

Share ko lang for your viewing pleasure...

PEACE!!!

An update on the rumored release date from TheDigitalBits.com:

Also this morning, this would normally go in The Rumor Mill because it's completely unofficial... but it's Midnight and I'm tired, so here you go. Retail sources are telling us to expect New Line's 4-disc The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Special Extended DVD Edition on 12/7. We'll post all the official details as soon as they're announced.

I hope New Line will finally announce the official release date soon.  ???
We deserve better.

Well, we're now hearing that New Line HASN'T yet officially announced the street date for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Special Extended DVD Edition. Earlier today we said that the studio had announced the title for release on 12/14. They had published a 2-page spread in this week's issue of Video Store revealing the street date, SRP and other details. Turns out that the ad got printed prematurely and was retracted. So the street date and other release details are still subject to change. Doh! We've updated the posting below and we'll be sure to let you know when New Line gets their ducks in a row on the release information.
