hmm.... lemme try

before, music one and astrovision sold fellowship of the ring and the two towers extended dvds for 2,200 each.  they are direct imports from new line so expect a region 1 coding.  with the current exchange rates, i would guess the prices would be around 2,300 to 2,400 pesos for return of the king extended dvd.  but i guess, it will be available by january next year judging from my experiences with our local stores.

hmmm... misconception yata yung hinaharang sa airport yung deliveries sa airport!   either we receive it in pasay or the central post office in manila then distributed to local post offices.  you can read other threads on star wars dvds on how they got the trilogy from amazon or other online stores just to give you an idea.  they use johhny air cargo or relatives from the states then handcarry na.

in terms of prices, $23.99 for rotk and $25-27 for the previous movies, it is still cheaper but you have to add shipping costs, aabot talaga ng 2k ++.

hope this helps

I just tried www.e-2-door.com and I think P2600+, kasama na yung shipping. I guess I'll be ordering from Amazon through e-2-door. I can't wait 'til a few weeks later sa Astro, especially since there's no clear news if the branches here in Cebu will be getting the DVD on time.

e-2-door has a premium almost equal to what you'd pay if you let the retailer abroad deliver your order here.
On the other hand, my Fellowship of the Ring gift set was ordered from Amazon.CA. The tax alone cost more than 1,500Php.
I paid 5,1++ for that set.  My Two Towers gift set was through pinoydvd and was around 4.2K.

I'm waiting for pdvd members to offer the RotK gift set come late November or early December  ;D

hahaha. ;D Hamig. It's been a while since i've heard the term. It was a term we used back then pag malaki ang panalo sa tex (yung mga small playing cards). pag tatlong dangkal ng tex and napanalunan e di malaki ang hamig mo. ;D sana lumabas na kaagad yung extended edition para mahamig ko narin.

:) Guess my age is showing with the term hamig. My cousin abroad who's older than I always use the term hamig whenever we talk about birthdays and Christmas padalas from other relatives abroad. Pareho yata sila ng meaning ng kabig. Whenever, I hear the word hamig from her, masaya na ako niyon kasi may aasahan na. At least, I've proven na hindi lang ako nag nakaabot ng word na iyon, hehe.  :D Sana nga makahamig sa Pasko pambili ng Extended Trilogy. Kahit delata na lang kainan sa Pasko.   ;D

Disyembre, puro lamig ang dala. Hamig naman. Going back to the ROTK EE, are there plenty of added battle scenes ?

ehehe baka ma ot.  i think there would be enough battle scenes to be added, kung meron man kokonti na lang siguro.  the extended version would focus mainly on important scenes that didn't make it in theatrical cuts like saruman's death, how eowyn and faramir developed, faramir's healing etc.  it would cover only details that could have made the theatrical cuts kasi sobrang haba na talaga.  like the two previous episodes, some were re shots and taken again just for the extended versions.

Thanks for the info. Saruman's death ? I think they shot more than one version of that. Will the EE show all ?

Actually, you only have to follow the instructions after "Checkout". But basically, you have to put your order in the cart then checkout, and input your Credit Card info, Billing Address, and Shipping Address. Your shipping address may be different from your billing address. You'll also be asked your preferred "shipping method" and gift options.  You can review the final billing cost before placing the order.  But before anything else, you have to create an account with Amazon, you just need an email address and password. Hope this helps.  :)

It's not necessary to have a dollar account. Your credit card will be billed in the equivalent peso amount of your dollar purchase but the conversion rate will be higher by 1-2 pesos.  :)

You guys might want to try placing your pre-orders at www.parconline.biz. Should be familiar to you DVD guys in Manila, right? I hear they get their DVDs early from their suppliers in the States, earlier than the supposed release date. Pretty sweet if you ask me. ;D I'll be ordering from these guys siguro; I originally planned to order from Amazon kasi.

Spoiler or no, these are great images. 8)

These images I got from another site (forgot the URL) before they were taken down last November 1. What's interesting is that someone from Weta Workshop confirms the existence of another Extended Edition version of the movie which is almost (*hold your breath*)...5 frickin' hours long!!![/i] Unbelievable? Believe it. Apparently, Fran and Pete made special special editions for the cast and crew only. And it reportedly has an epilogue. Read on below:

News - Last update: 1st November 2004

Weta Workshop warns me because the Spoiler-images and also confirm what I have found out in the last two days: the special "Cast-and-crew"-SEE-version!

The Spoiler-images are deleted: J. D. (of course the webmaster know the full written name) from Weta Workshop has contacted me. In the first part of his message, he has told me about, that he is not very pleased, to see the Spoiler-images from the Return of the King. That is the reason, why I have now take all the spoiler-images down! Sorry, but I do not want have problmes, the risk his to high! Only New Line could kick my ass, but J. D. just need to contact them via phone, and then I have trouble.

So: In future, I wont upload new images, that I get from my European source (btw: until now, I have always asked one of the sources, before I have uploaded Spoiler-images!)! My source is not a danger for New Line, he does not send the images to other people, he also do not make copies of the movie! A very good attitude. But I will still let you know, which new images I get. Nobody can make it forbidden, to write describtions, or can they? I can only say that about my: the companies can trust me!

The story about the two film-versions: I must excuse, because I have no real proofs (images). But for what should I fake that all? I trust my sources, I know that they are real, so let me finish:

In the last weekend, one of my sources has told me about an UNRATED DVD-version of the Special Extended Edition. Only the cast and crew (New Line is not a part of the cast, only Weta Digital, and Weta Workshop and so on) will get this DVD in the next few days!

A different cut was made just for the crew and cast. The version that was shown in the screening in Wellington (2nd August 2004, six people, from that I now almost know five, was there) was not intended to be the version, that goes into the stores in December!

The running time of the "Cast-and-crew"-Special Extended Edition is: 4 hours, 55 minutes and 19
seconds! It is much more longer than the film-version, that come out in Decmeber! Why it is longer? Because in the "Cast-and-crew"-version are more scenes: the Epilogue is still inside! There are also the new Elrond/Arwen-scenes, the extended Grey heavens and so on!

The "Cast-and-crew"-Version of the SEE is a surprise for the men and women, that have worked for the film. Even members of Weta did not know, that such a version will be come out for them. From the TTT SEE and from the FotR-SEE, there does not exist such "Cast-and-crew"-versions.

J. D. has confirms the things, that I have heard before! Orginally part of J. D.´s message:

"Now I wanted to address the epilogue you wrote about. Yes, there
is an epilogue sequence, yes, it was originally in the film, yes, we did
have to cut it out. But, not for length. The length of the film had
nothing to do with it. It was because there simply was not enough room on
the dvd. Once we added all the audio tracks (5.1 surround, DTS, commentary,
etc) There was not enough room. So changes had to be made. One of the
victims was the epilogue among other scenes. Now we still have the version
with the epilogue still in the cut. That version will only be made
available to members of the crew as a special gift from Fran and Peter. I
also checked out the reviews you have on your site (oh yes, I studied your
site). I see that the two reviews came from a screening held down in
Wellington."

After that, he wrote about himself, he give me his name. He said, I can check it, if I want, but he know that, but he must be real, if he knew that all. I trust him (but nevertheless I let check the name by Jedi/Moorer).

In the end he has written:

"That screening was of the uncut version. So all the things that are in those
reviews are not going to be seen when the extended dvd hits store shelves.
So your souces are going to look like a couple of losers. Look, I just
wanted to make sure you had the facts straight on what happened to the
epilogue."

So, let me make an end: of course I try to talk with that men, with Jedi and also with Mr. Moorer. The images are deleted, I want to be cooperatively. There will not be other or new images from the source, that has already the movie!

The SEE, that will come out in Decmeber, there was in last time no huge cuts or changes, the epilouge and the other things was already taken out very early!

I also try to make a list with the differences between the SEE-version, that we can see in December, and the SEE-version, that was especially made for the cast and crew.
