The burson counterpart "rolled over" so the 627 is staying in for good. ;)

The AKM chip has a differential output, precision is vital and that's why it's direct coupled to the 627 where it shines the most. :)

Hi Jojo

I see your Dac project uses the xmos chipset for USB input , which is great as this one is compatible with  linux when you make your Rpi  audio server /renderer , up to 24bit/192Khz  NO Driver needed , just plug and play..

Hi Jam,

Yup it uses the xmos chips, we chose that as it was the best option. I didn't knew about that, I was actually worried if the xmos will run in Linux. Thanks for the info, I'm on the email list and once the RPI is available again they'd send me an alert.

Naaalala ko yung Rotel Ra-931 Mk 2 ko. Nilagyan ko socket then tried the OPA627AU. It improved but still veiled. Off it went to its new parents.

Ako naman di basta basta palit lang ng opamp, dapat optimized din yun purpose. Like I said, yun output ng AKM chip ay differential so it's best to have a precision differential input opamp with the least input offset currents to handle the job.

Gracias, amigo sa mga goodies.....

@Joey

Today pa lang ang handover.....

Were able to test it against a 70wpc int amp that cost 60k.....i still prefer the babyG's sonic character for its well balance and clearer presentation across the bandwidth.....btw, a pair of Dulcet was used. 8)
