i paid P3090 in taxes for my heatsinks from conrad shipped via air21/fedex, luckily for me, julian gave me a $42 rebate, ok na rin... ;D

i never had any problems with items coming from states that went thru the postal system..

heatsinks were around 500 PHP, again less than i expected :)

i had both shipped via priority air mail, got here in around 2 weeks.

i bought some tubes online before, had them shipped EMS ~200 USD worth, didnt pay anything. it was even delivered to my house in 5 work days.

my experience with fedex/ups is that you get charged a lot for the customs, around 20% of value + shiping.

but then, for expensive stuff you just have to fedex

jojo,

how many mosfets do you screen/have? are they that far off? Vgs i mean....whatch out for those guys called "buraongs" at raon corners selling these semicons in tubes, sometime you may get lucky and buy those mosfets in plastic tubes. i once paid 5buck each for a platic tube of trannies worth hundreds, these guys do not seem to know what they are selling... ;D

tony,

I think I have 25pcs of the N-channel while 15pcs of the P-channel. Some have the same lot numbers but the worst difference is 0.9volts. I have to match them since the F1 doesn't have any form of dc offset adjustment (though NP said I can tailor the ccs resistors). So far I have several matched fets and to be sure I tested them using 100mA, 250mA, 500mA and 1A test currents. Btw, these hexfets are from International Rectifier.

Before, we can really get lucky but I think now they (the buraongs) have been taught of the value of what they are selling.  :( Curse those big mouthed fools.  >:(  ;D ;D ;D

oh i don't think that will happen, i told them the value of the things they sell, and they said they don't care, as long as they can sell it fast. semicons are not the same as tubes, there are no suckers running after them the way that they run ater tubes. ;D

the law on supply and demand pretty much applies here, they have many stocks and not so many wanting to buy.. ;D

Ouch! Sayang naman mga contact numbers mo dun sa cell. Yun cell madaling palitan, yun mga contacts mahirap hagilapin  ;D.

Where do I start looking Tony? I'm having this SS itch inside me which means I need SS projects to do, kaya excited na ako sa F1 amp that I'm doing now... pero gusto ko sana gumawa ng personal amp ko na medium power, Class AB with Mosfet devices.

Thanks

Its posted at $12 dollars sa Newark. I just don't know kung anong conversion ng AFT ngayon pero at least no shipping cost. Kaya napamahal ako data kasi umorder pa ako ng brown dog adapter sa cimarron tech kaya almost 2K inabot ko.

What leads? Those gauge #10 or #12 ones?  :o My soldering station is having trouble heating those leads.  ;D ;D ;D

Guess it's time to bring out the old Weller 140W soldering gun out of it's holster.  8)

Thanks man.  ;D

No problem, let's hook up when time permits.  ;D

I just went there as per Tony's request, the 1543 looks good but the 1541A is a bit questionable, unlike the ones we see on the net, the stampings are a bit odd and the Philips logo is missing, the 1543 however has the logo.

I guess it's just up to Tony and Andy to decide. Btw, wasn't able to get the prices since their computers were already shutdown when I came in.

I heard that only the 1541A and 1541R1 is available in the Philippines, however, rumors are no use to us until we get a fix on who sells them. I'll try again and find any other sources locally.
