Your cart looks very nice. Ask google for the replacement stylus type and possible source. Not familiar with local vendor but try to look around. Who knows other members might have something to offer much better. HTH.

much thanks Audiojunkie and Remington.

i guess i have to let it go as it is hehehe. I sent this equipment thru seafreight and im currently abroad. i was hoping theres a local shop where my dad can buy a stylus/cartridge, attach and test it along with the turntable. If he likes it he can keep, otherwise ill post it in the market place.

Mga sirs patulong naman, got a used Rega RP3 with an Ortofon Red cartridge, after setting it up (got a Cambridge MM Pre amp), tried to play an old LP, distorted yung sound. So i got a new LP baka kasi worned out na yung old LP. Distorted pa din yung sound. Tried fiddling with the adjustments with no success. :(. Ano kaya ang culprit? Thanks!

Try to use another phono stage...check your cables too...isolate each part of the chain...

My best bet would be a worn out cartridge! :-X Try replacing it or cleaning it with mr. clean magic eraser.

check mo muna kung tama alignment nung cartridge, then next yung VTF.  Check mo narin kung tama anti skate.

Newbie pa sir Jagner, check ko manuals and google ko yung mga parameters na yan. I went only as far as changing the balance of the tonearm with the counterweight and the value of the tracking force.. Thanks! :)

Here's a 30year old deck that was brought to me from Baguio City by owner Ed Nevada. He wanted to have it restored and customized. He said this deck has been with him and his late brother Arwin since the early 80s.

Like my usual works, the main diecast frame had been scraped to bare metal. Primed and painted to a shade of blue metallic that I personally mixed, then topped it with super gloss clear coat using polyurethane automotive paints. The tonearm section had also been painted to match the main body. This deck didn't come with a platter so I provided one. I also replaced the broken pitch control, tonearm clip/rest, one leg, switch knob, and aluminum pitch decal ornament. All lights have been replaced as well. Super bright white LEDs on the 33/45, pop-up lamp, and pitch indicator, while the storbe had been fitted with bright blue LEDs, RCA cables and connectors have also been replaced with heavy duty, high grade set. Tonearm and pitch control have been calibrated as well as the motor brake. Lastly, rubber base was lightly sanded and repainted to matte black.

Mga master, merun lang po ako tanung... Merun ako Pioneer TT at kapapalit lang ng stylus pero bakit kaya ang hina ng tunog nya sa vintage amp ko, 12oclock na pero mahina pa din. Nag continuity check using digital VOM from four wires at cartridge down to rca cable at ok naman lahat ng reading ko. Nag try ako with 3-different vintage ampli with phono input pero mahina talaga sounds output.

Update... In the first place yun na din naiisip ko but before buying whole set with branded one, I tried to diagnose again step by step and Whewwww found the root caused, the new stylus was not properly inserted at cartridge. Now my Pio TT sing very well and loud at 10o'clock volume... :D

Thank you Bro mykel and other member who sent PM'd for some troubleshooting and assisstance... ;) :-*

i have a fisher tt at home too but the "stick" that holds the needle got cut/broken.is it better to have it fixed or just get a new one?

I keep reading about the technics 1200 in this thread. Is it really such an upgrade over entry level turntables like the Rega RP1? Or is it at par or better?

Or is the appeal more because it's a classic model and not really as to sound quality?

not really an upgrade po, for me mas madali gamitin yung mga direct drive kesa sa belt drive. yung rp1 kse lyt platter na tapos ang resale value is not as good as 1200. given the price to performace ratio and ease of use and resale.....ill go with the technics. but if your serious about your analog rig...hindi po gnitong mga tts ang klangan ninyo.

thanks for the clarification.

Di pa yata "serious" :) It's something I've been meaning to buy the past few years, just to try it, but I've never gotten  around to doing so. So I just want to see if vinyl is for me, or if pang CD/digital talaga ako :)

I'll think it over first, if i should just buy an entry level Pro-Ject or Rega, or scour the MP for the 1200 or other cheaper turntables, since my object is just to try this out. (though this is going to be a bit of an expensive try out, since I'll have to get at the very least, a phono stage, and likely, a stereo amp hahaha).
