sorry if this was answered already...

any places outside of raon where i can find turntable belts? need a tonearm belt for my Pioneer PL L1000.  details are as follows:

Square Belt, 3.7 inches
also used for Sansui P-L40/50/75 and Sony PS-Q3

thanks in advance!

** edit: what does the size refer to? circumference or radius? also, are there alternatives to these belts? would o-rings or thick rubber bands work?

Hi everyone,

Bago lang din ako mga ser sa TT, initially nag-down payment na ako for Rega RP1, then ang dami akong nabasa online about some issues for the entry level.  So in short, I decided to upgrade it sa Rega RP3, pero almost doble yung price tapos bibili pa ako ng cart, recommend nila is pwede na raw yung Elyss.  My setup kasi is either yung RP1 o yung RP3 then pre amp is Cambridge Audio 551 then hook it up sa lumang Yamaha RX-V 430 with mission speaker.....

Any suggestions with the expert what is the right thing to do, as i have said newbie lang ako sa TT, just reviving and cleaning some of my brother in laws old vinyls with Revirginizer as well........ getting confused now. :)

Thanks in advance sa mga mag-reply. ;D

what issues? reliability? or those reviewers just don't like how their system sounded?

what are you looking for in your system? i suggest that you give your system a try first. there are many tweaks that won't cost anything. try adjusting the speaker's position. you might also want to fine tune the set up of the table.
peace man!

Sir Carlo,

Ayoko lang kasing gumastos  later on kapag gusto kung mag-upgrade, and I think that yung RP3 is safe for upgrade on the long run, correct me if I am wrong.

Sir dodie,

Actually kapag na-addict ako.looking to get the 356BEE para todong analog or later on down the track get the 1020 DAC para maconnect ko yung DVD or BDP player kasi puro optical and coaxial ang mga connections, ok ba yung ganun or just stick with vinyl?.......btw sir dodie mag-kano ang vinyl dyan sa atin? and saan makakabili?

Sir dodie,
Kaya kahit papaano justified yung hilig mo para gumastos....... he he he.. ;D

sir dodie,

@bolahan, the only model I'm familiar with which is within your price range is the Rega RP3.

@all,

what can you say about clearaudio turntables? which ones are their entry-level models - is it the concept and the emotion? What would you say about these models vis a vis the RP3? or mas ka level ba nito ang RP6?

Kung clearauduo, you start to compare vs RP6. Pero RP3 should be good enough for most purposes. The price diff vs RP6 can be spent on a good phono amp and/or a cartridge upgrade.

Thank you for this. After consulting with others who share your view, I'm back to rp3. Just trying to figure out if I can incorporate turntable in my current HT placement, or if I need a separate stand to put the turntable. More expense Hahaha!

Thank you, I think. Hahaha!

Looks like I'll be going this route para di masyado masakit sa bulsa -

First stage -  RP3 and basic or free carbon cartridge + entry level mm/mc capable phono cartridge (maybe the 651p or the MF VLPS)

Second stage -  upgrade cartridge, buy stand for music set up

Third stage -  buy either integrated amp or preamp with nice phono cartridge + power amp

So I watched this last night, Michael Fremer's Turntable set-up video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQDa7suJn64

and I ended up agreeing with the guy from the audience (or was it Fremer's cameraman/foil) who jokingly said, and I'm paraphrasing, I don't have to go through this kind of trouble when I play CDs using my CD player. Hahaha.

Have $1,000 to spend on a turntable set-up(sold stuff from another hobby)....already have speakers and amplifier....need suggestions for turntable and phone preamp....

These are the ones I'm already looking at:
project debut carbon, U-turn audio's Orbit, rega rp1

phono preamps: schiit Mani, cambridge audio, project phono preamp (not sure which one)....

Was thinking of an all brit set-up with cambridge audio and the rega rp1....

I used to have the Project debut and their base phono preamp...

An all USA set-up would be the Orbit with the Schiit Mani (built in Boston and Valencia CA respectively)....
