Wow that Lyn Stanley album is expensive!  But from listening to it on spotify I understand why it would sound awesome on vinyl....the vocals and instrumentation on the album is sweet  :)

That's gonna set you back a good 3000 :)

cheers

Yeah but it's an EP and I don't want to go through the trouble of moving the belt...I know it's an easy switch I just don't want to do it...that's why I only buy the 33s

Ahh yeah... rp1 nga pala.

Try looking for an Lp ng The Wall, good test of separation, instrumentation and imaging.

♪ ♫ We don't need no education...... Hey Teachers!!! leave those kids alone! ♪ ♫

That's a good sounding big bang for buck TT.

Cheers and enjoy the music :)

For vintage look, would choose victor. Performance may be not much difference with thorens if it's original version.

Dual 731Q

Plugged in the turntable - It spun a bit then heard a crack.

My question is:

Where Can I have it repaired?  Are there still available parts?

any information appreciated.

I saw it already sir in your thread & left a note. I suggest to clean first and pinpoint the problem before sending to tech. Unless you want to package the work, clean & check + fix if required.

I think I better go option 2 -  package the work, clean & check + fix if required.  any recos?

-im based in ortigas center, so the nearer the better

Not very familiar with local tech to recommend... May be other members do know reliable shop, would be helpful also to mention a vicinity close to your place.

Are there any sonic benefits to running a vintage turntable as opposed to a current production one?

(and can we stop abbreviating turntable, I mean isn't it silly that it takes a lot of work to maintain and play your turntable and you can't give it the respect that properly spelling and putting in the 8 letters gives it?)

I read an article that original pressings aren't only collectible they are sometimes superior to a re-issue.  It says that some re-issues are actually ripped from CDs when the releasing company doesn't have access to the analog master.

;D ;D ;D novelty lang yung orig pressing, but ill take the orig pressing over the remastered copy at any given day ;D ;D

also, original pressing is the first pressing kaya sought after, rare kse. yung next batch of pressing yun na yung reissue. yung mga magagagling sa plaka alam nila ang barcodes ng first pressing ng mga released albums.
