Hi guys, puwede na ba ang Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Stereo Turntable? Or not even at the level of the RP1 or other entry level turntables?

Also, can I do an RP1 + phono stage + powered speakers like Sonos set up?

Mas ok siguro mam kung abang abang ka nalang ng technics 1200 mk2-mk6. Kasi spec wise at durability at parts availability sulit ang technics. Pero kung base sa tanung mo mas ok rp1 + phono stage ok na itong setup na ito.

^thanks. It's not for me, it's for my sis who's abroad. Can't find technics here in Sydney, so I'm just looking at familiar sounding brands.

I own a Kenwood TRIO KP-700 Direct Drive Turntable which I haven't checked and calibrated since I bought from PDVD member. I saw same turntable being sold in Japan's high end store so I decided to use this again. Can you recommend someone who could calibrate and enhance it's set-up?

TIA.

I dont know why too, For me maybe its a Fad. Belt driven TTs are more quieter than Idler's that rumbles but w/ proper mounting on a massive plinth & also w/ proper control on motor vibration and w/ some additional tweaks  a lot of TT enthusiasts says it can out do modern TTs.
For the thick slab of wood used (Kamagong, Narra etc), upgraded ToneArms & Cartridges, these will surely be added extras thats why it comes out very expensive. Maybe if we had good hands in restoring I think this will lessen the cost.

newbie here on Turntable.. I'm, planning to setup a very simple one for our living room.. TT with built in  Preamp + powered speakers..

My question, is, may difference ba sa sound quality if I used a separate pre-amp than built-in.. Thanks in advance,.

there will be a difference. as to which is better, it would depend on the phono stage.

I know someone who purchased an Audio Technica TT with built in pre-amp.  He was disappointed with the quality of the pre-amp - mahina gain at mas maganda pa tunog nung CDP niya.  The phono preamp is one component where the saying "you get what you pay for" is often true.  He tried an entry level phono stage (MF V90-LPS) and it improved in both gain and SQ but now he wants to upgrade everything, TT included, hehe.

I'll be buying my first tt.what would be a good budget tt that's less than 20k? Been eyeing the rega p1 . Would this be a good buy? Would the technics sl1200 be a better buy in terms of overall sound and reliability?

I'm quite happy with an RP1 mated to a Hypersound av2050 and LS50s. From what I'm hearing, I don't think I'll be getting the performance pack in the near future. Then again, I only bought this to try out records.

Finally got an rp3. What are the things that you do to take care of your vinyl and turntables? Where to get brand new jazz lps?  How long is the lifespan of the stylus and cart?

Congratz Sir, Just enjoy the music when it spins, you'll know the the stylus will wear down if the sound reproduction isnt right anymore. For the LPs dami stores dyan sa Manila, not like here in Cebu so scarce or rarely at all. Just get an ONZOW stylus cleaner from edcap, thats one great tool to take the dust & tiny particles sticking to the needle, it will surely extend its life. Also a good record brush will really help  ;)

I mostly go to Grey Market Records, you can message them if you have a particular album in mind, or you can just go there and hunt. You can also try plaka express, they buy and ship from the US so they have an extensive collection, but there's some waiting time involved.

On caring for your record, your manual says all there is to take care of it... basically just don't break it ahhaa

Dami din sa marketplace natin dito seller ng LPs, Its just great to go to a record shop & see the actual LP. One downside too is there's too much to choose from & we will be confuse on w/c one to get  ;D

Still torn on getting a TT.  I bought one back from the UK some time back, but never really gotten around to setting it up.  Lugi nga ko kasi mura napabenta, ang mahal na ng market value ngayon.  I sold my kit consisting of a Thorens TT, Creek Amp and PSB bookshelf speakers 2 years back for 20K

Still considering of getting one kasi I have some LPs and a vintage Pioneer Receiver (SX434) which I think will look and sound good in our living room

Give ED a try, get an ONZOW. Its one indispensable tool for the stylus.
