Any will do as long it suits you taste & as long as it spins then plays that analog sound quality, it will do

My vintage Akai amp and TT complements well my old vinyl collections. Listening brings your memory back to those times. For me I only want to listen to old music selections with my TT. But in terms of audio quality of course for me the best pa rin ang FLAC files.

Finally got an rp3. What are the things that you do to take care of your vinyl and turntables? Where to get brand new jazz lps?  How long is the lifespan of the stylus and cart?

Congratulations, fishda!

What particular Jazz LPs are you looking for?

Planning to repaint my Technics SL-Q33. Is it safe to disassemble it without affecting the tonearm assembly or its performance?

The hard part Raffy would be the tonearm alignment kapag ginalaw natin but sa mga Masters ng TT here I think its a walk in the park for them. Wait nalang tayo sa advice nila.

Brader I think mas safe pag di na galawin tonearm specially fully automatic yata yan, big possibilities na may miss align. But if you have the courage and proper docs/manual to disassemble then go for it.

Balutin mo lang maige tonearm then spray paint gamitin madali mo na macover lahat ng surface nyan, sipag, tyaga at oras lang need nyan  ;D

Goodluck brader! Wait nalang namin pics before and after....

Salamat sa input sir Ken. Yun din concern ko, yung tonearm alignment. Mejo sensitive mga TT when it comes to that. Hopefully I get to do this without causing any problem sa tonearm. Review ko muna disassembly manual to see if I can do it. Hehehe.

Maraming salamat sa input brader. Coming from a DIY master like you, it gives me confidence to go for it. May disassembly manual ako nakita. I guess kailangan ko na lang i-asses kung kaya ko yung disassembly and muster enough courage to do it. Will update this thread once I'm done with the project. ;D

Never tried the magic eraser since I already bought the onzow. Sulitin na din ang bili. Lalong sayang kasi if diko gamitin.

Those who do use it, okay naman daw. I would think pareho lang since the only thing you need to do is find something soft enough that would take dirt way from the stylus.

If I'm not mistaken, they get theirs sa Daisy/Japan home. Mas mura. Sa true value nasa P100+.

Hi masters.

Seriously as long as it spins & plays the albums you like then its already a good start. There's always a difference in everything but as you said you wont take it to a serious level then that will be fine. But I'm not familiar w/ your SONY GTX-XB5, as long as you could connect the TT thru it & it plays then you will just have the final judgement for it, if its in your liking. Even me I just sometimes play my LPs thru a CROSSLEY Turntable & I still enjoy every analog of it.

FYI, I found Mr. Clean Magic Eraser in True Value (Uptown Mall branch). Php340 pesos. I'll try it out later, after watching the YouTube video.

I'll also try to find something from Japan Home, para may stock.

So I thought the only problem of my Rega RP3 was a dirty needle. I cleaned the needle using the Magic Eraser and found that sound is only coming out of the left speaker. There is a barely discernible sound coming from the right speaker.

I tried to narrow down the culprit as follows:

1. Not a speaker problem because I played a CD and my Xiaomi Mi Box and sound came out the right speaker.

2. I interchanged the RCA cables and voila - the problem is now the left speaker and the right one sounds okay.

Is the needle still dirty? Or is this a cartridge thing? Can this problem arise out of non-use? Hahaha. I have barely played my turntable because the needle got dirty, and just when I thought I had a solution, this other problem came up. And when I say barely, I mean it may be a year since I last played a record.

sa liit ng needle point to attract/hold dirt, i just use a small make up brush to clean it ...
i dont use any solvent to clean it as i feel that it may react in the long run with the adhesive used to attached the styli to its cantilever...
