now..the only reason that is compelling me to upgrade is that the new superbit has dts audio track....
i'll probably just wait till i get a real good deal before i retire my old dvd copies....

For those who are intrigued with the Superbits, I suggest you read all the possible reviews in various sites and post about it here. Some titles are not hgihly recommendable and some are not recommendable at all.

Just take the post of woodie wherein wala palang English language option ang audio ng Crouching Tiger.

In my case eh sulit na rin kasi gusto ko talagaa bilhin ang Desperado before pa but somehow something was stopping me. With the reviews eh all the reason to finally buy it na.

Ito palang naman ang balak kong bilhin na Superbit. But among the avialable titles, wala pa akong non-superbit DVD copy.

Atat na nga ako makuha ang order ko.

yes...the improvement is subtle (except for desperado) but superbit was designed for high-end systems and for big tvs.

So, if you've got a home theatre system and a tv that people would kill for, then the differences are more apparent.

Note: I got the information above from some websites and can't corroborate it on my own. I suggest you rent it first (when it becomes available).

Nakakapanibago pala ang menu screen niya. May Superbit logo lang with the metallic background. Then you only have 4 rectangular panels (in blue) to choose...

According to my computer, the Bram Stroker's Dracula Superbit DVD that I bought at Astrovision is also Region 1 coded.

i think i'll be getting Gattaca Superbit. Gattaca is one of my favorite movies of all time, and alang kwenta naman yung 'regular' DVD nya, walang features. so might as well get the Superbit edition, para magkaroon naman ako kahit isang Superbit.

those planning to buy superbit dvd's i would highly advise to hold off and wait for the new superbit deluxe dvd's.

Superbit Deluxe will be the same thing as Superbit, but with a second disc, containing special features.

Patriot and Hollow Man Superbit Deluxe will hit the streets on May 28. in the U.S.

Uyyy mas OK yan. At least you get the best of both worlds di ba. Pero siguro naman eh hindi na sila maglalabas ng deluxe versions of the existing Superbit. For Desperado Superbit eh wala na sigurong deluxe versions since wala naman talaga siyang mga special features eh.... Wait muna ako for additional titles.

Columbia has announced a 12/17 street date for the next three Superbit titles: Resident Evil, Heavy Metal 2000 and, suprisingly, The Who's Tommy. They'll retail for 27.95 each, featuring DTS and DD5.1 tracks.

they just released Panic Room Superbit with no extras $:-\$ , single disk
so i highly doubt that the superbit deluxe would be a standard.

Just saw snatch superbit de luxe R3..and it was indicated at the back it was 2 disc..i was planning to get one..just hope all extras will be there.

Bad trip! And here I was, ready to buy into the hype.

Sayang none of the titles I want (Crouching Tiger, Gattaca...) are Superbit Deluxe. Don't know if the trade off in video and audio quality will be worth losing the extras.

OK lang. I got the second to the last copy of Snatch Superbit for P550 (P650 savings).

P999 each (P201 savings each) naman ang kuha ko ng Superbit ng Anaconda, Knight's Tale, at Vertical Limit.

Also got the Mission Impossible Boxed Set for P899 (P701 savings) only.

It seems na nagkamali sila ng pricing sa iba rin kong nakuha pero mga 1 copy of each lang kasi normal prices na yuong sa iba. Just like the Mask of Zorro and Snatch, akala nila same price as the non-Superbit Yuong sa MI boxed set eh naidikit ata nila yuong price for a single MI DVD. The rest kasi puro P1,600 na ang price tags.

Total savings = P1,954.00
