You can't stop the bits, from dvdfile:

"Rounding out Columbia's September 9th lineup are three new Superbit titles, all in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 (and no extras, of course): bare bones releases sans extras: Lawrence of Arabia (across two discs), Leon: The Professional and Steven Spielberg's Hook. Retail is $26.95 each."

A snippet from the press release:

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment raises the curtain on a trio of acclaimed filmed stage performances debuting into the Superbit collection of enhanced DVDs including Cirque du Soleil: Dralion, Les Miserables and Riverdance: Live From New York. All titles will be available on October 7 priced to own at $26.95

Specs are the same for all three titles -  Closed Captioned Digitally Mastered Audio and Anamorphic Video Widescreen Presentation Audio: English (Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS).  Les Miserables is the 10th Anniversary live performance at London's Albert Hall.

I've been told that Warner does in fact use "Superbit" level video  bitrates and high-definition masters for most of their new and SE releases. The only difference is the absence of DTS audio which the company itself seems to believe provides minimum upside and isn't worth the added expense.

if that really is the case then warners releases will do ....would really be happier though if they used dts too

they shouldve done the same for movies like the matrix that warrant a dts audio option

DVD Asian mostly has Korean DVDs, even their Foreign Films (American, French, Italian) are for Korean release.  They're based in USA but unlike Amazon, they mostly cater to Asian DVDs or Asian Released DVDs. Look at their Band of Brothers set, it's very different from the local R3 and the imported R1 release. :) It's Korean....and its so much nicer. :(
